What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

What an elegant Case jack knife! May I ask its model and the species of wood?
It is a 1977 Case 11031 SH. I see people call these "Rope knives". I'm pretty sure all of these came with Walnut for the handles.

Here is an older, darker version.

Some jobillo for wooden Wednesday.

When I got up at 6 to take Finlay for his morning walk, he didn't want to go today. He won't put weight onto his right hind leg and is clearly quite distressed about it and won't let me inspect it. I'm taking him to the vet this afternoon so until then he is being allowed to snooze on the sofa on his blanket....

Paul, keep us posted on Finlay's condition, praying for quick recovery! Love that jobillo 25.

Very nice pic and knife.

Travman, the grain on that Case is very nice.

Carrying a new one (for me) today for wooden Wednesday. This one made its way to me from the Outer Hebrides, Scotland as an incredibly generous gift from our friend Paul (pmew) who knows my love for 26s. Thanks again Paul!!

Ken- I like the lines of your 26 with the wharncliffe blade. It reminds me of a short, stout Northwoods Freemont Jack.

... but this was such a pretty example, and very inexpensive.

Pretty indeed!

It's so hard when they can't tell you what's wrong. I hope it's nothing serious and the vet is able to get him back to his normal self soon.

Thanks! That older, darker version is classy, too.

Today is day four with the Remington R16. It's small, but very capable. I understand why Dr-Mabuse is such a fan.

Sending smoke up for Finlay. I hate seeing a pup distressed. I hope your pup is back up on his feet in no time!

I hope the best for your dog pmew....

Paul

Prayers sent for Finlay! Let us know what you find out. Lovely knife and the shield is just perfection :thumbup:

Thanks guys. I really appreciate it.

From an incredibly good friend.

That is a lovely pocket knife, Bob

It belongs with the family Ken, and what a stunning picture you took of it too!

That's so true, nothing worse than those big eyes staring up at you in fear :(

Love that Remington

The vet was happy that nothing serious has gone wrong. To use the precise Vetinary terminology of the Cumbrian vet "he's boshed 'is knee a bit". An anti inflammatory jag and no tennis ball chasing for a few days. A load off my mind. Phew!

Well done everyone!

Thanks for the info on the Ruler knife Jack.

My Forum knife has finally arrived! It spent 8 days in CBSA customs clearance. Maybe they should hire a few more employees. I'd hate to see the the wait time around Christmas when they get really busy.

Here's the knife. Works perfect.

Thanks to all involved for making it happen.

Have a good one all!

Good to see that lovely TC!! Sounds like a good day with ADEE:thumbup:

Thanks pal :)

Thanks for the kind words, Jack. Sounds like you carried far more knives than any of my daily totals! :D

I'm still recovering! :D That is a great line-up this week my friend

Nice shot r8shell

Hope Finlay is OK Paul, are there any doggie treats I might send him? I have hurt my right heel, and am also limping about not being able to put weight on my right foot. I could do with someone to take me to the vets! ;)

Thanks, Jack! Nice Lick Creek!

Thank you Gary

Man o man that Chestnut is fine! A very classy knife indeed and Thank you for the compliment !

Wonderful news that its not more serious! Rest and lots of vitamin C and Glucosamine and chondroitin (chondroprotectives) for pets. And nutriceutical take some time ;)

Great photographs and knives!!!

Thank you all for the nice comments on my old Case Redbone. The beauty of the knife is only exceeded by the beauty of a special friendship that brought it my way. :D

Had these with me to do a little finish work on the carving. They both have their type of work for it.

Finished project :

Harry
