What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The best reason to visit ND is the people. Amazingly enough in my experience most of them are as upstanding and generous as our Mr. Hilborn. (P.S., they also have great duck hunting and fishing and the prairie has it's own unique beauty). Maybe I should write for the Valley City Chamber of Commerce, what do you think Paul? ;)

Hey Erik, you nailed it my friend. If you love the outdoors ND is a great place to be. Same can be said of Minnesooota don't cha know:D;)

I'm totally bluffing anyway. My wife and I will likely work the beet harvest in coming seasons, and we looked into moving to Sioux Falls. (South Dakota, but who's counting?)

Seems like there are a lot of good, genuine people in that part of the country, even if they have to dress up like Hugh Glass for half the year. ;)

It was taken as you intended my friend. Lighthearted. It is cold and the extended forecast highlights a couple of -3° to -5° as highs in the next few days:grumpy:

Paul, I feel the same way about the weather here in Arizona, only reversed. The summers (110°-115° regularly, occasionally as high as 120°) really make you appreciate the winters. :D

I hear you Barrett, my Dad lives in Mesa 7 months of the year and I've been to a Diamondbacks game when it was only 112° according to the thermostat:eek:

Nice looking knife Paul . That is about the color my fingers would be if I had to work outside up there.
Stay safe my friend.

Harry

Thank you Harry and a return compliment for your dynamic STAG duo.

I have two boys and one only carries his coat, hat and gloves in the car for emergencies, my other boy dresses for cold weather as one should like myself. I've worked outside year round all my adult life and I live by "better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it" basically better to over dress then to be under dressed;)

I apparently apply that to my knife carry...more is better:o:)

Looking good John

"Yeah, but it's a dry heat." At least that's what the locals would say when I used to visit for business. 115° is 115°, dry or not.

Something different today - an old Case Stockman given as a Christmas present from my mother about 20 years ago.

Couldn't decide between two new additions today...so I'm carrying both!

88' 303 redbone and a 94' 3 spring flat ground goodness!

The 94' comes real close to everyday perfection for me...post 88' so it's 3 springs and they swapped the Spey and Sheepsfoot and it still sports that great flat grind.

Today I started out with my medium Stockman. My wife and daughter got it for me for Christmas a couple years ago. It was due to have some of the pocket sweat tarnish knocked off of it, so I brought it to work to polish it a bit. Sharp as all get out and one of my favorites to carry. There are other models out there that I like more from an aesthetic point of view, but it's really hard for me to come up with a more practical EDC than the medium stockman.

When I digging the polishing strop of my go-bag, I "found" my Boker City. I tagged along for the picture even if it's kind of a Globalized modern take on the SAK (German company, borrowing from a Swiss design, and having the knife manufactured in China). You can't see the corkscrew on the back, but it pulled my backside out of the fire a couple months ago when the Mrs and I stopped off and bought a nice bottle of wine while on our anniversary vacation...I had forgotten the corkscrew, but the Boker, luckily, had sneaked aboard and was at the ready. Handy tool, but certainly doesn't have the charm of my scuffed up Case with its earned patina.
