What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Harry Really nice Acorn shield on that oldie, great treat!

Chief That Wharncliffe/Quill/Teardrop is like some dream. The work on the bolster is extraordinary, kind of like Ancient Egyptian art. Mammoth I assume or some kind of other tusk? A fascinating knife for sure.

Thanks, Will

That is beautiful Jake!!! I notice your location is "Home of KaBar" I grew up in Olean, NY. Have not lived there for 40+ years but it is my hometown. Small world.

Jake, that stag is wonderful! I really like your Kawamura.

Bob, that picture brings back so much for me. My first knife was a Barlow, no telling how many miles I carried it and my old slingshot. Have a great time with your grandson and keep that big smile shinning my friend.

Chris

Thanks Chris. Barlows and slingshots were made to go together. :D That's a new one I just got for my grandson. I banded it up yesterday so the big test is today.

Nice, we use those to keep spiders out of the basement (doesn't work:o)

Thanks guys! It's my first from Ryu...not the last though! Real nice guy to talk to and build an order with.

Alan, I grew up in Niagara County but moved to Olean for a job almost 12 years ago. Most people move away, I'm one of the few that moved in. I love living in this part of the state though.

Bob, that's a good winter activity! I used to set up a trap box and shoot my BB guns down our hallway as a kid. It was Dad's idea so I couldn't get in trouble lol.

You're sure right about Olean Jake. Most people move away, or at least they did when I left there to find a job in 1972. Still, it's a friendly town, great food and cost of living well can't be beat!

Is that a cliff Parker?

Both forged by Don Hanson, Sunfish forge. The W2 trapper is mine but the Damascus belonged to a friend who sold it. Back to this combo today.

Bob, I still have the old slingshot my dad whittled for me before I could even walk. I will get it out and post a picture a little later.

When they were small, my son & his friend nextdoor each got one of those wrist rockets. They were responsible with them at for a long time, but I came home one day & they had totally destroyed all of their Tonka trucks in the driveway & I had a driveway full of broken marbles. That was over 40 years ago & they're still grounded.:)

Hahaha, the stories conjured up by a pic of a slingshot are priceless. I think at some point, we all got in a little trouble with them. My grandson is actually a very good shot. He's got a good eye. I wish I still had some of the ones I had as a kid. Several of them home made, but they were deadly. :D
I usually had my Boy Scout knife in my pocket when venturing off on the hunt.

Sound like a wonderful day, Bob. I put some surgical tubing on my wrist rocket frame not to long ago - great fun! Great photo:thumbup::D

I pulled these two out and realized the smooth autumn bone and amber jigged bone compliment each other nicely.
