What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I like pretty much everything about that knife. The big pivot is great, shield is great, and dat bone...

Thanks! Jerry makes a real nice knife. I feel very fortunate to have one.

Gary Exquisite bone on the Halfrich, the more so because it's Shadow. But, I'm really fascinated by that small anvil/stiddy you have there, most cool.

Thanks, Will

Thanks, Will. If I had any sense I'd sell all my other knives and carry the Halfrich everyday. We all know how that goes though...

That little anvil was made by my father in law when he worked as a blacksmith on the New York Rail Road, circa 1950's. Back then they made all their own tools. I've also got some sledge hammers and pry bars that he forged. Somewhere around here is a 18" or so hunk of rail too.

Dragged this out of oblivion today...you don't hear much talk about these 76s which is a pity. Remarkable W&T, No.13 out of 25 in Root Beer Float acrylic and from 2012 when GEC still seemed interested in releasing new and untested patterns, frequently :thumbup: Somebody used to post here with a really wonderful and very used example in bone.

Chip, that AGR Peanut looks great! How's the weight compared to the Case Peanut?

Thanks, I've been really happy with it :)

Case Peanut- 36.3 grams
AG Peanut- 39.6 grams

Nice one Will, and I agree - excellent W&T. Mine isn't numbered, and has a bit less color than yours...maybe more float, and less root beer in it. I should carry this one more.

Thanks, Will

That's a pretty knife!

After a week of carrying one of my modern knives, I am back in the tradition fold.

Erik - A gorgeous knife and photo.

Will - As the proud owner of a 76 Jack in Stag, I agree it is a pattern that is mostly overlooked. However, when one comes available on the exchange it usually disappears very fast! :)

My introduction to the generosity of this place we call the Porch. But more important than that it was my introduction to and the beginning of my friendship with BigBiscuit. It was in my pocket today and you were in my prayers Bob. ;)

Beautiful knives, friends. I took the farmer out for a walk today.

Bob, I'm praying for you, your family, and the medical staff. We love you bud!

Since Bob "BigBiscuit" is going into surgery tomorrow, I thought I'd carry a #85 he modified and later put in a GAW. I feel very fortunate to carry this knife. Since he modded it, it's a one of a kind like him.

Great idea! I'm going to follow suit and carry this #25 I bought from Bob last year. He added the EO notch and patina to it. Bob, you're in our thoughts and prayers, my friend!

That's a great day for sure. Wouldn't it be fun to listen to the stories that old knife could tell?!
