What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Recent discussions about Buck knives got me to reminiscing about my old 703's. As a result I'm totin' the 703 in the middle today. 1986 two spring model.

Nice 703's Rick. I have one with the Old English style lettering, like your top one. After years of use, it developed a very small split in the wood, so I quit carrying it, because it's such a nice knife & I didn't want to ruin it.

Pulled out the grand portage to carry today. The bolster patina is coming along nicely.

Thanks, Ironbut.

Fortunately, I haven't had any problems with the wood on these but I don't carry these like I used to. In the early 1980's a 703 was my only pocket knife and I carried it for several years. I never had any problem with the wood on that one either but I did fry the Spey blade trying to use it as a screwdriver on a motorcycle battery. The battery arced and burned a pretty good size hole in the blade right at the edge.

It was that incident that taught me not to use a knife as a screwdriver. Ah, the good old days.:)

Carrying this #85 again today that I received from one of Bob's GAW's. He's modded it making it a one of a kind kind of like him. Thinking of you and praying for you Bob for a speedy procedure and recovery.

I'm carrying a couple of rescues I'm slowly rehabilitating.
The old Kamp King has been a joy to carry and reminds me of my later father in law's old Cub Scout knife that was passed down to me.

The little Hammer Brand Jack has a ton of walk and talk despite being over 50 years old and probably rusted shut for at a good bit of that. It's quickly become of my my favorite minimalist carries. I need to tune the edge a bit more and polish up the blades. However it may keep me from splurging on a Peanut for the time being.

That's a nice looking knife. Love the burl wood and the bolsters.

Bob did a nice job on that. I'm sharing your thoughts and prayers for Bob today.

Jake, I've got one of those old Camp Kings around somewhere. Seeing yours makes me want to find it. I've had it since it was new. Long time ago now!

Put my Mace Vitale Personal on my belt today. Sambar stag, forged 1084 "brute de forge" with copper liners. Sheath by Paul Long. Built like a Mack truck.

Ron Thank you too. That's a very fine Dogleg Bob gave you, it's another pattern meriting more attention. Even though I am not formally or conventionally religious, it doesn't stop me from thinking about our friend and wishing him all strength in this very trying time for him. Any of us could be in the same boat one day.

Regards, Will

Will I recall your fondness for the 56 patterns, you having posted at least 2 fine examples that come to mind! :)

Thanks Gary, Harry...

Yup my lone Dunlap, seeing the picture now it doesn't show off the dark red liners on the LC as well as in person, I had hoped the 77 next to it would show that red more. Also looks like I have to clean the 77...leftovers from its last use.
