What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I've got the 22 magnum with me today. I dug up an old pic from when it was brand new. So shiny!

Beautiful photo, great depth. Nice knife, also!

I got this Miller Brothers at a flea market and cleaned it up. It still has great snap and half stops. It's in the rotation.

That is one very Nice find right there!!! Great score on a a great vintage knife.

I've had this sitting in a safe and came across it while looking for a car title that I just sold. Happy to pocket this one. The swedge/swage on the Pen is fantastic:thumbup:

I always loved that pattern when AG first listed it, I think it's a great interpretation of the congress pattern and that pearl is exquisite. Thanks for sharing

Beautiful JB, it looks perfect. I love when an old knife cleans up and looks that good. Good on you for carryin' it too, knives like that were meant to be carried and the pictures shared, thank you.

Excellent EE there. But, what do you call this type of jigging Gev? It's remarkable and odd  Dimple Bone, Scattershot, Scar Bone, Pore Bone??:D:D

Thanks, Will

I'm curious too, I've never seen jigging like that before, Divot Jigging?

One of these days, if I'm lucky there'll be a TC Barlow available at the same time I have the extra funds to get one, unfortunately that'll have to be in the distant future for now so I'll have to enjoy it vicariously through pics like this but I thank you for sharing the pic of yours. It reminds me of why I like the looks of Charlie's Barlows so much, they're simply outstanding lookin' knives. :)

Thank you kindly, my friend. This type of jigging is called pick bone or pic bone. My recollection of a long forgotten discussion was that pick bone was done by hand in the very early days before the invention of the jigging machine. I seem to recall there being a factory where they specialized in it. I seem to remember NYKCo and or Schrade Cut Co. may have been that place and the other companies would buy their jigged bone from them, as well. I have an very early Norvell Shapleigh with it. This knife is an early Camillus. The aritsans that were the masters probably moved around to where their skill was needed and was probably lost with their passing. Waynorth has some super examples of it and maybe remembers the history better than I. I sure would like to get the story straight again at any rate. Maybe its in Levine's guide or another member like Codger knows

Gev Much obliged for your knowledge. I've heard of Pick Bone but not sure I've seen it before, or I just imagined it was another name for Corn-Cob. GEC did a Sarpent Bone on its 23s in the very early days that looks a bit like this. Fascinating to think it was done by hand at first, lengthy business! I still don't know what a jigging machine looks like or how it works either?

Thanks, Will

I am not sure how you could temporarily mis-place a knife like that my friend . Very nice .

I've also heard it referred as picked bone but that may be the wrong term.

Today I am enjoying another treasure that I acquired from Bob. In my humble opinion, one of the classiest 15's that has been released!
