What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Very nice Cannonball! I am pleased to see another Grand Portage displayed on this thread. I recently purchased my second one and am carrying it today, it has old growth oak covers. Too new for patina.

Thanks! I've been sorely tempted to pick up another one - those old growth covers are just fantastic!

I ended up carrying the Norfolk today. I love everything about this knife.

I don't throw too much away Dean, and have Paul's letter right here in front of me :) It's Paul story, but I'm sure he won't mind me telling the bare bones of it. In the small town where Paul and Nanc live, there's an old shoe repair shop, which has been in business over 50 years, and run by the same family throughout. As well as repairing shoes and boots, and carrying out all sorts of other repairs, they sell rifles and shotguns, and gear for fishing and archery. They also sell knives, mainly Bucks, and the shop acts as a trading place for ammo, tackle, and knives. Paul saw the old Boker rusting in the display case one day. It had chips in the main blade, and some pitting. He took her home, and cleaned and sharpened her. Then he very kindly sent her to me. Paul reckons 1900, 1907? : When Photobucket allows me to, I'll post a pic with the blades open

Thank you, that's a great knife origin story, Jack! And it certainly sounds like our generous Paul.

Harry, it is always a comfortable feeling , to have familiar knives in the pocket. Those two are very nice.

On to the creek bed hike today. It was nice and warm despite the overcast clouds.
my head was telling me " don't go under the bridge"...too many horror films watched:eek:.
It was a great walk and my Itty Bitty and cadet kept me comfortable...and used on an apple.

Thanks Steve . It is comforting to have those 2 with me .
Great photos that you have posted today . Takes me back about 65 + years to when my brother and I frogged around almost always around a creek.
Your ITTY BITTY is a very interesting knife . Who makes them ? The sheath that you are using with it looks very nice and well thought out.
Take care my friend and be careful of walking under the culverts.

Harry

Very poor cell phone picture of my upgraded EDC set up. The Maratac AAA and Craftsman 4-Way screwdriver now pair up with my Peanut, P38, and Recycled Firefighter wallet. All tiny, all punching above their weight.

Nice, Dee.

A fiery beauty you have there! Is that a user, Dee?

I'm carrying my cocobolo 66 today (and my everyday Barlow).

As always, thanks for all the kind words my friend .

Indeed, it is . I like to think of them all as users  :D.

Why must you tease me with that 66  ?! Great dynamic duo  .

Very nice everyone!

Terrific stag GuestWho101.....

Today I went with these two.

A GEC 25, thanks Will, and a Vic Pioneer Apprentice.

Thanks, Ken! It's Elk. ;)

Excellent grain on that 25.

That's a nice little knife! And that slip is pretty slick!

This 2005 Schatt & Morgan Railsplitter hasn't seen any pocket time for a few years. I decided it was about due.

Trying to get back to normal after the holidays with my old normal EDC

Harry

That is a smashing normal, Harry! The compliment each other so well! That 73 is one of my favorites:thumbup:

Jack

Love them both! That ivory piece is wondrous and the picture is great:thumbup::thumbup:

I had a 38 in my pocket today. :D

Stunning. The wharncliffe blade really compliments the 38 frame and the rich red cocobolo looks elegant. I now have another knife to be on the lookout for.

The cocobolo on your knife is much more red in color than the KSF pictures which showed the wood to be more basic brown.
