What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Case Bose dogleg and an old Camillus #22 Pony Jack that Dale gifted me a month or so ago, that hasn't left my pocket since I received it.

It was a tough decision whether to carry the dogleg or not, but its just a knife, right? The Bose Dogleg is a beautiful piece, but I'm having mixed feelings about it. I'm going to have to take some time to write up some objective thoughts on it.

Hi,

Glad to see you're liking that little #22! They are graceful little companions to carry and maybe one of the best Peanuts made.

This last week I've been stuck on my Boker Barlow. It's done everything from slicing apples, to cardboard, to cuttin' beans from the garden yesterday, to cleaning a dozen chukars this morning. I think few patterns are as hard workin' as a good Barlow. And Boker makes a very good one.

Blues, I know the Buck is a heckuva knife, but I've always found the job goes faster if I use a shovel. Just a thought . . .

Thanks for the tip. You're more than welcome to come down and spend a weekend showing me how to do it right. (I won't be upset and I'll even provide beer.) ;)

Actually, I find a hoe pretty useful for a lot of the work. (But the 301 comes in handy on the vines than invariably get tangled up with the debris that comes down from the woods into the drainage ditches.)

I'm carrying this new (to me) Case 6292 "Texas Jack" today. It's a 3-Dot (1977 manufacture) with nickle/silver liners.

Just make sure it's a vine you're grabbing Elliott.

Good point, Ed. Fortunately, we get very few rattlers here though copperheads are more common. We had a really nice looking 5' black racer cruising through our yard the other day. They'll generally high tail it but will put up a fight if cornered. (That hoe I mentioned above is the first thing that goes into the culvert to pull back rock, gravel and what have you. I don't think I'd mess with those bad boys in your image with my Buck 301...)

Just got my first Case :) this will be my introduction into the "traditional" knife world. Got it on clearance so I suppose it will do until I get a Stag handled Trapper.

How about a little ebony and ivory today.

Hi folks,
I believe I should introduce myself first. My name is Louie and I live in Spain. I have been registered for a few years now, but only posted very little. Sorry about that.
I used this Case Peanut with real nice smooth bone to open a few boxes today. The picture does not do the handles justice.

Cheers,

Welcome to Traditional Louie... You will find the Peanut has a very strong following here, and the folks here are outstanding

The Camillus will get all the work. But what a great knife. Solid and sharp.

Welcome to you Louie, nice looking Case Peanut. A lot of great looking traditional knives in this forum, thanks all for sharing.

Here's a Case large stockman with freshly dyed scales and shield (it used to be blue with a red inlaid shield).
The little modification worked out great, and now it's something a bit different. It'll be riding in my pocket all day.

Carrying my Tidioute Cutlery lockback I just got today and my little Nessmuk style from CJS knives. Sorry about the poor quality pic.

Thanks for the comments on my R. Bose Back Pocket. Its been a great knife and gets used almost every day. Reese used it for about a year or two before I talked him out of it and the bone and blade have aged nicely. Its one I plan to keep on me til the day I die.

that Bose is really cool and it's great to see that it has really been used as it should

for me it's this one the whole day long
