What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Tom if it were mine I would try 0000 steel wool then hand polish. That would probably leave some cool patina.

Yes this or a rust eraser . I like to use super fine sand paper and leave a satin finish. I prefer the satin finish myself.

Spring!

Mark
Vivid Böker and daffodils photo, Mark! Windchills of 4˚F the past two mornings on my way to work, so spring is still a foreign concept to me.

...
Thanks Gary. The stag on this 25 has richness without being too gnarly.
Alan, I REALLY enjoy the rich brown color on your stag 25, and the pile side still has very impressive texture, IMHO!

...
Thanks, Gary! I think you have the epitome of the Cadet there! I like that it has another blade instead of the nail file.

A junior scout and Farmer Jack went to lunch; which is where I am going now.

Thanks, Dean. When I first found out that a Cadet II had the pen blade instead of a nail file, the knife immediately went on my "try to find one" list! SAK pen blades are one of my guilty pleasures; I wish more Alox models had them. You had a couple of charming lunch companions!

Thanks for the compliments my friend, nice carries  That is Sheffield Town Hall viewed from the 'Peace Gardens, and actually there are several fountains and water features between the knife and the building! :D I hope not too, I wish I wasn't the Jack Who Bit Down On A Crusty Piece of Italian Bread too! :eek; :D
...
Thanks, Jack. I wondered if I could see some kind of pool just above the nail nick in your I*XL photo. Italian Bread - pleasure and pain together again!:rolleyes:

Thank you! Yes the spring arrives, though mornings are still chilly!
I made sure the 71 does not feel homesick!

Ahh, world-renowned French cuisine! :D The photo reminded me that my first meal in Granada, Spain with my daughter was at an incredibly crowded Burger King.

...
Thanks for the info GT, great looking electrician too
...
An Enzo Necker on board for me today, handy knives and very lightweight.

Thanks, Tom; my novice sharpening skills are usually effective on old Imperials and Colonials, but that Colonial Electrician is frustrating me! You're certainly carrying a chromatically complementary couple!

...
I went with more colour today.

Have a great day!

Ken K.
I love the Yellow TC's Ken, nice picture:thumbup:

A Red camel bone #14 for me today...

Ken and Paul, your knives in bright primary colors are cheering me up on a wintry day; thanks!

TC Tuesday :D

Definitely a Tuesday Champion, Ron!

I am rockin' my pickle fork shooter and a sway back jack today.

Welcome to The Porch, CajunTX! :) Fantastic swayback jack!

Hanging out with Hugo.
Hugo is my hero!! What a Whittler, FBC!

That's a fine looking pi pie, GT!

My wife and I got married 9 years ago today (3/14), and you would think that pi day would help me remember the date, but for some reason I often think that our anniversary is 3/17 instead (which, as my wife likes to remind me, is St. Patrick's Day, and not our anniversary).

After a brief departure for Stag Saturday over the weekend, I'm back to carrying my Speaker Jack. (Recycled photo.)

Thanks, Barrett. The Marie Callender Razzleberry Pie was a tasty surprise when I got home from work yesterday.
Happy 9th anniversary! Coincidence of the day: my parents were married on March 17. Good-looking congress jack!

...
Love the Pi pic GT! :D :) Sorry to have missed Pi Day, but I might sneak out for a piece of pie today ;)
...
I felt like having a Taylor's Eye Witness Day! :)

I hope you found some good pie, Jack. Your TEWs are a prestigious pair; I really admire the stag on the second one!

Ebony Workhorse for today :)

Wow! Wonderful choice for Wooden Workhorse Wednesday, Ron!

A few years ago, I saw a sky-writer writing a series of numbers in a huge spiral. He went on for hours it seemed, covering the sky with numbers. It took me a while to realize he was writing "Pi in the Sky" on Pi day: 3/14/'15 :D
...
Do they have Pi Day in England? There is no 14th month. :D:D

Great to see your Camillus equal-end spear again, r8shell! Nice Pi Day story; I've heard, but can't verify, that countries that use the day/month format celebrate Pi Day on July 22: the fraction 22/7 to the nearest hundredth is 3.14. ;)

This one is growing on me more than my initial impression suggested. The weak closing snap has worked itself out.

Congrats, Paul! Always good when you like a knife more the longer you have it.

...
Happy 3.14159265359........... to you as well :).
...
I need to clean the rust from the bolster of my lost-now-found Radio Jack, any advice?

Thanks, Tom. I like your cream and crimson pairing!

That is a drool-inducing canoe, Travis!!! :thumbup::thumbup:

This week's carry includes:

It might be hard to tell. The Spey is closer to a pen. And both blades will do paper almost as good as the third blade.

Thanks GT! Hold on, spring will come [emoji4] And I once heard a wise man say that cold weather build character [emoji56]

I forgot yesterday was your mathematical holiday! You are so fortunate to have a knife that is appropriate to cut your 'Pi.' :D

Thanks, Dean. When I first found out that a Cadet II had the pen blade instead of a nail file, the knife immediately went on my "try to find one" list! SAK pen blades are one of my guilty pleasures; I wish more Alox models had them.

Thanks, Gary! The Cadet II is on my list, also.

Today's carry...

Carrying the 77 Barlow and my Wards Hawkbill today : The fixed blade is one that I found in a parking lot in around 1972 . It has always been a Kitchen knife but Nancy used it one day as a pry bar and she asked me to put a point back on it . It was made by Victorinox and has been a Very Good knife .

While I had the Wards in the workshop I touched it up on the old Dazey Sharpener . There are better sharpeners in the world but this does a good enough job for what I use the Wards for . Picked the old Dazey up in an antique shop sometime a long time ago. Made by the same people who made the Dazey Butter Churns .

Harry

GT you always have something nice to say to everybody, thank you. Some good knives yourself, how do you like the MAM? I've been curious about those.

Don't see this guy leaving my pocket any time soon! The walk and talk is perfect and snappy like an alligator, just the way I like it. I want to see how this muslin micarta ages with use.

Super knife! Like everything about this version, Pen frame (jury is still out off the satin bolsters though, might strop them to a shine...) and I'm very glad to hear yours is a tip top example. The Micarta looks most promising indeed. Just wish I could handle mine! :mad:Tracking informs me of insane behaviour  it took just 3 days from USA to Köln Germany, next day it arrives here in Finland in Helsinki, yippee! Uh uh, after 26 hours the imbeciles put it on a flight to Malmö southern Sweden! Then back to Germany Köln! Then to Stockholm Sweden, aha! only a short flight away! No, it's sent back to southern Sweden Malmö again! Now it's in Madrid Spain!! What??? Probably be in Brasil next:D:eek::eek::grumpy:

One of my favorite threads, I enjoy the daily carries everyone

My Menefee in antique Westinghouse Micarta today.
