Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean-
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down-
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

Immaculate knife, Bob, and the coin and spyglass are great "props"!

...
I've got the 885UH today. Schrade's stainless takes a very nice edge!

That Uncle Henry looks ready for heavy-duty action, Jeff! I don't know why, but I like Staglon.

...
Thanks, Gary. Two knives with beautiful covers and they're both Case!

Today I'm carrying a Schrade stockman in bone and a GEC boy's knife in ebony.

Thanks, Dean; I enjoy having pairs (or more) of knives with matching covers, and I could do it more often if I keep that feature in mind on my next rotation schedule update.
I sure like the looks of those simple boys' knives, especially the ebony with the endcap! And that Schrade is a step up from Old Timers or Uncle Henrys, isn't it? Are the blades essentially the same for all those stainless Schrade models, but the covers/bolsters determine "economy" from "premium" models?

Wonderful knives today!!! I was Totin a Viper with East Indian Rosewood for Wooden Wednesday. :)

Always a treat to see the dark Viper with the matching hangman's noose, Ron!

Holy Cow!! :eek::thumbup::thumbup:

That is a super cool Taylor-Schrade GT .

These two for me today (always feels weird posting a knife with an upside down shield for some reason).

JACK, thank you for the kind words. I did try to take a better pic than my normal "Knife on a pedestal."

Therefore, currently

I failed to get a photo for Wooden Wednesday, but I've been carrying my Ebony #74 yesterday and today.

I love the jigging on that knife. Hopefully, I will have diamond shield myself, soon enough. Is that one of Charlie's SFOs? I tried to look it up, but can't find its reference numbers - would you please state them?

Northwoods Zulu today which is sitting next to the Case/Bose colab for comparison.

IMG_2816_zpsw2xo1olz.jpg

I used an Esky Zulu in denim for the whole summer, last summer. It was my only pocket knife. I gave it no quarter and it took whatever I threw at it. Not my favorite pattern, but it is a very useful pattern. You have some nice examples of Zulu(s).

Increasingly, I am carrying a fixed. I love it and never thought I'd enjoy one as much as I do this one. I've abused it, loved it, and it just begs for more. This is Lon's forged 3V and it's done superbly. I have yet to make it dull or come across a task it couldn't handle well.

With its companion today.

Enjoy the day everyone.

Poetry in text and knives, Gev. Great photo of your classic beauties.

Thanks, Gary. I bought the Schrade a while back and know nothing about it except how good it looks. There is no model number or any other markings except on the main blade tang. It may have been an SFO for somebody?

Your Colt canoe is a great looking knife, especially the stag.

Today's carry is a Camillus pearl whittler and a TC sheepfoot.

Paul
Lovely orchard gem indeed. Thank you my friend :D

Bob

Harry
