What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Since I always bought it with me !!!

Nice Imperial Joe

Smashing

I misplaced my 2015 CSC BF's Traditional Forum's Annual knife about 6 weeks ago, I was starting to get a little despondent when my daughter asked me if I was missing a knife. Apparently it was in a pair of Dockers I'd worn to a nice dinner out. The pants went into the hamper in my room and she just got to those pants 10 minutes ago. I was really startin' to think I might have lost it and was tryin' to figure out where I was gonna find another, it was a popular knife made even more so considerin' how it was one of their last runs before closing the doors forever.

The night's almost over but this will be the pair tonight and for the foreseeable future.

( My Cats lost in the tourney this past weekend, I caught a bad cold Sunday, a bad storm blew down my favorite back yard tree Monday night, not anticipating a lot of luck today !) :o:D

Hey Mr P! :) Thank you  Sorry to hear about your week :( I hope you get better luck today my friend, happy fishing with that beauty in your pocket

Thanks, Gary!

Thanks, Alan!

Where have you been hiding this one, Alan? :)
Gorgeous!
Now, please step away concrete/bricks. :D

PM sent.

Carefully pulling that off the bricks :o Ive not been hiding it, but I do think this photo came out much better. The sun is actually out here, finally!

With all of the Queen talk this week, I've decided to carry only Queen knives for a few days, and see how they work out. The #3 Mountain Man in antique stag bone was taken fresh out of the box, and it's a real beauty. I inherited this one from my father-in-law. The bone is absolutely gorgeous. The covers look like molten lava. The grip feels great. Perfect walk and talk. The grind is wonderfully thin. Much thinner than my thicker Mountain Man lockback. A few minutes on a diamond bench stone had it hair popping sharp. I honestly can't find a flaw on this knife. My good old Queen #99 scout will ride shotgun.

So after findin' the CSC, BFC, SFO Serpentine Jack (I like all the letters :), GEC, BFC, SFO is the other one I like ;) :) ) I decided to take out all the BFC Traditional's annual SFO knives from the last 11 years. That's a long time of gettin' a lot of people to agree on a pattern, scales, blades and steel within' a year while leaving enough time to collect the money, make and ship the knif and do it for around $100 give or take. That's a pretty dang impressive feat if you ask me, many thanks to all of you who have been involved over the last 11 years and much respect for the tasks you took on to produce a knife each year.

Actually I'm just waiting for the pic of today's carry knife and figured I'd take the opportunity to ramble on ;) :) .

After taking each knife from it's home, (more than half were in the box on my nightstand that I pick my daily knives from) I wiped them down and remembered each knife and the trials and tribulations we went through to get each knife. We started with CSC in 2006 and we closed their doors in 2015. That knife, the Serpentine Jack with the big birdseye pivots and no bolsters was another example of what how the people on the porch influence the industry. ..

Ok here's what I have in my pocket today, the 2009 Queen/Schatt Morgan D2 Sheepsfoot Barlow with the gorgeous donated Stag scales. :)

Hope you enjoyed the trip down memory lane. I'm still working on the History of the BFC Traditional's Forum annual knife. I gotta run but I'll link the thread when I get back.

Arm wrestle you for the 2015 CSC serpentine jack!

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

I just found it after it disappeared the same day I replaced it with another knife. I didn't like the knife I tried and went to put it back in my pocket case and I couldn't find it. My daughter found it after about 2 months missin' so in short, No, ya can't armwrestle me for it but if I see one I'll let you know. :)

There it is in it's leather jacket with it's buddy Lone Wolf. :)

I'll tell ya, those CSC boxes were overbuilt and will last as long as their knives, Queen on the other hand had the graphics rubbing off just from handling the boxes, now GEC was smart, tubes mean no corners to rub off. :)

Green Day [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]

Yes :thumbup::D

You got a pattern number on that Case Barlow? And you call it a razor but I thought they were known as one-hand openers?

It's a 62009R and Case calls it a Razor Barlow as do others; they are also known as one-hand openers. In the world of traditional knives many blade shapes have alternate names.

Today is an Orchard Gem and an Ancient.

In answer to 5Q. No pins are missing on the 85.

As for today.

Joe, glad your 85 has all its pins; my eyes play lots of tricks on me these days! :(
Those EOs, both Camillus and Imperial, are outstanding IMHO!!

Carrying this beauty from Joe Allen today

I'm All In on that Allen, Alan!! Breathtaking burl!

Thanks for all the kind words my friend, those are some great-looking working knives
...
Thanks, Jack. :)

Great choices, GT. Antique pocket knives are complicated. That was a lame attempt to use math in a joke, Professor.
...
Slow day at the house. Normal pocket house gear 'artistically' done to a T. I know, another bad joke.

Today was green knife Tuesday for me: a Case razor Barlow (thanks, Dee!) and a Victorinox Farmer (thanks, Gary!).

Vivid, verdant knives, Dean!! Green goes good with spring right around the corner (i hope).

Thanks, Gary!
It's a Fidget (Key Ring) Toy.

Three knives with enough character for seven.

Thanks for the info and the compliment, Dee. :) 3 knives with character for 7 - can I work my knives into a lesson about exponential growth??

Your Otter and Böker are the cat's meow, Mark!!

Good to see you here, Primble! Sorry to hear of your bad luck; maybe you should grab a knife with a lanyard before you get aboard the boat. Hope you have some awesome angling!
