HSB Junior Cattle Knife. OH

That's a great knife. Any idea who manufactured it?

All the best,
Stan

Well, somehow the weekend and Monday were WAY too busy for me to keep up with all the posts here I thought deserved some attention, so I'm not going to try to catch up. I'll just "hit the reset button" and try to start from scratch tomorrow.

Here are some of the knives I'll carry this week.
A Vic Classic, Minichamp, and Electrician (thanks for the fantastic Electrician, Greg), all shown in this Victorinox group shot from my early days at BF:

My non-SAK with bail for this week is my trusty Forest-Master from about 1960:

Yes your State was a breeze W to E about 46y's 8m's ago compared to Montana on my way back to Indiana after getting out of the Army out at Ft Lewis

Thanks Harry, we joke that people shouldn't blink or they'll miss our wonderful landscape:D if you traveled east to west on Interstae 94 while passing through ND, you literally drove past our house:eek: we are approx 500ft from the interstate. There's several exits and a fantastic dinner just in town, would've been neat to buy you and wife lunch my friend:thumbup:

We did take 94 across , but we were going West to East , and had motel reservations in Fargo and we were running a little late or we would have stopped. We spent a little too much time at the Theodore Roosevelt National Park . Wonderful little park we believe too . We will for sure stop in there again if in the area .

We're just west of Fargo about 40 mins Harry in Valley City, or the Jewel of the Dakotas. We joke that it's the only Valley in the state;)

The grain structure on that one is phenomenal, Gev!
Truly a Stallion.

That is a fine looking serpentine, Dee!

2016 forum Knife with me today.

Thanks, Dean!

Another calendar quality photo, as usual.

I LOVE North Dakota, I love the prairie and it's funny actually because when I was 18 I hated living here. Don't get me wrong, I have always loved the people but the landscape held nothing for me.

When I was 18 I lit out for Denver and the Rockies, I more than likely would've remained there if the state of North Dakota didn't feel strongly about extraditing me back as a result of my stupid actions as a youth:o Funny how life works isn't it?

I've grown to love the prairie more and more as I age. I still love the mountains and what we refer to as the pines (the lake country of Minnesota) near home. But I find such peace on the prairie. From the flat brown and tan tones in the spring to the vibrant greens of summer to the wonderful orange, golds and reds of fall.

I walked my dogs today and snapped a few pics. A new knife just arrived from John (thanks John) a great 2010 #56 Northfield Stag Dog Leg Jack:thumbup:

Prairie and sky.

The prairie, two loyal pups, and a stunning knife.
What more could one ask for? :)
Thanks for sharing!

Took a few kids from our church out trout fishing for the weekend. We landed a Steelhead and a nice brown. Had a blast throwing tomahawks and sitting around the fire too. It always amazes me how much I use a knife when I fish, and 100 times more when I bring a kid fishing!

Great pics my friend, and that sounds like a fantastic weekend those kids are sure to remember

Cool pic

Nice-looking Ulster Ernie

Haven't been posting much lately. Time to get back in the game.

Thanks Dean, excellent pic of your forum knife

Great series of pics Paul, and I really enjoyed your post

Happy pockets GT! Here's a pic of my Lambsfoot for you ;) :D

Also carrying my Lick Creek Barlow :)

On vacation with the family, all day is non-stop focus on the girls (as it should be) but sneaking a little late night time to try and catch up on this best of threads. 6 new pages since I last posted, so many cool knives and stories! Paul loved your North Dakota post! Thanks to all that complimented my Heartland, much appreciated. This knife is always one I bring when out of town and overall it's a tough one to beat in my mind

Stan, thanks. I do believe my HSB was made by Camillus in the 1950's. I have a Camillus 75 from the mid-50's on the way that is very similar, will compare more closely when it arrives. OH

As a father of three grown-up girls, I can tell you that that is unlikely to stop anytime soon Drew! :D Great-looking Barlow

Great looking specimen, Drew!

And red it is.

Something about the handwriting and the red that makes this picture ...sing!

Thanks, it's my Russian homework for college.

Ugh. When I was still going to school I was taking a few languages (Latin, German, Russian, even Arabic) as I thought i might be interested in linguistics. I made it nowhere in Arabic. I enjoyed Russian - I've worked with a surprising amount of Russian speakers - but the alphabet kicked my butt. I have bad enough handwriting in English without having to learn to extra letters both in printed and script. Basically all I know in Russian is "hello", "goodbye", "thank you", "you're welcome", and enough curses to get my head kicked in by an angry Russian.
