Ugh. When I was still going to school I was taking a few languages (Latin, German, Russian, even Arabic) as I thought i might be interested in linguistics. I made it nowhere in Arabic. I enjoyed Russian - I've worked with a surprising amount of Russian speakers - but the alphabet kicked my butt. I have bad enough handwriting in English without having to learn to extra letters both in printed and script. Basically all I know in Russian is "hello", "goodbye", "thank you", "you're welcome", and enough curses to get my head kicked in by an angry Russian.
I study Russian and German. I knew German before already, so no problems there. Russian I thought would be easier because I already speak Slovene, but no sir. It's a pain in the butt although the script is not a problem for me. The example in the photo is a bad one, otherwise I write it nicer than Latin. I have to, otherwhise it's unreadable ...
