What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This ebony #15 came the other day, haven't had a chance to carry it till now. Added to last years landscaping and had my #77 canvas barlow Friday and my Stag #73 when I finished up Saturday.

Yes, that is the Bark River City Knife. The pocket sheath is called the Adirondack, and came with three I purchased (can't remember which 3 though :)). Not sure if you could slice a roast, the blades are a little short for that at 2.6 inches. An onion? I don't know, maybe? Let's find out :D:



It is .14 inches thick, but the blade is fully convexed so that aids in slicing.

More or less need to dig the ends out.



Not the thinnest slice in the world but the blade went right through it.



Decently thin slices once the onion was halved.



A little better at rough cutting.



Not too bad at dicing, but a kitchen knife would have been easier.




Overall it did ok. A kitchen knife would have been more efficient, but it did alright for what they are, handy little fixed blades.

Haha! Thanks for the pics, whetstone! Looks like it worked, albeit not as good as the right tool! But I was curious as I don't carry a kitchen knife everywhere so occasionally it might have to! Lol.

I'm torn between the city knife and the bird and trout. The city would be more carry friendly, and tougher for stuff like working in the shop but the B&T would do better for food prep when needed.

Guess I gotta decide.

Carrying my ebony cattle knife today while working on my new project. It's opened a ton of boxes while inventorying parts.
