What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

One of a small handful I was carrying around today. Major, biblical rain here for most of the day, so I was kind of stuck inside.

Hope you get some sunshine soon Alan  Just listening to the other Alan Shearer on the radio, a pale imitation my friend! :D

It looks like metallic wire screen. Cool!

Yes indeed, reminds me of the wire-netting my grandfather used to make

Thank you kind Sir ! Hope you had a fine day !

Very good thanks my friend, we're experiencing some hot and sunny weather here at the moment :)

Finally feeling like summer here.

More on this 'fixed blade Lambsfoot' curiosity over in the Guardians of the Lambsfoot thread, if you're interested...

Happy Friday, everyone!

Absolutely fantastic Chin!

I'm off out for a picnic lunch, with these two :)

(Have to get some new pics of the Joker)

Have a great Friday everyone, and an even better weekend :)

Those are just a pair of leather work gloves I use when I'm filling my bird feeders. They get used year round. They make a good background because the knives can be easily positioned to take advantage of the lighting.
Interesting photo tip to keep in mind! Thanks, Gary.

Here's me today

Hypnotic horn handles, Jack!

View attachment 712477 An oldie but goodie in my pocket today.
Wow! THAT is a quintessential jack knife, ecallahan!!

This stainless Western Whittler today.

Thanks r8shell!
Worthy Western whittler, Greg!
Was Western a regional brand? I've yet to run across a Western pocket knife in Michigan (but I don't get out much ).

Whetstones posts finally made me succumb and get a city knife. (MT Damascus, you need to stop posting such fine knives else you will cost me much money lol)

Congrats on the City Knife, Joey!

I went on a very long hike today. Towards the end I took this photo of my ebony Boy's Knife.

Exhilarating and elegant, Dean!

... Fine knives everyone, makes me almost embarrassed to show off mine today. But then again, there is nothing shameful about 'ol Uncle Henry...

Nothing shameful indeed, Padruig; stagalon rocks!!

...
I've carried these two for the past couple of days.

Have a good one!

The long and the short of it is that's an admirable pair, Ken! ;)

Propitious picnic pair, Jack; hope the picnic lunch experience was enjoyable! A current photo of your Joker would certainly be of interest to me. :)

My peanutish knife for this week has been this Taylor-Schrade Mighty Mite:

In my watch pocket this week is a Rough Rider dogleg locking mini canoe (at least that's what RR calls it):

As always, I'm also carrying a Vic Minichamp and a Rough Rider small stockman (thanks r8shell):

Have a great weekend Jack! Thanks for the weather wishes, unfortunately it looks like more of the same coming. That Joker is a neat looking piece?

Thanks Jack, I hope you enjoy your lunch. Great background vistas in those last two Lambsfoot photos too, by the way, mate.:thumbsup:

Thanks a lot pal, I did :) Backgrounds are the River Ouse at York, and Burbage Moor (adjacent to Hallam Moor), close to the Sheffield-Derbyshire border

Thank you my friend! I hope you have a great weekend! :)

Thanks a lot Ron :)

Many thanks GT, I also had my wee MAM picnic knife with me. I meant to get a pic of my Joker, but was distracted by the sight of my friend's 3-year old trying to eat his own weight in vegetable samosas! :D Here's a relatively recent pic though

I'm headed off to the Adirondacks, for the long Memorial Day weekend. My old Camillus BuAer Life Raft knife will be in my pocket, and the Hess Whitetail on my belt. It'll be my first test of this new classic style combo.

Thanks my friend, the same to you, in spite of the weather :)

Looks like you're well equipped my friend. Have a great weekend.

Thanks Alan. The new ones I believe are all from GEC so that gives you a base point. They tend to be higher priced so watch your $$$, but overall it's really a matter of slightly different designs.
