Notable scout, Greg! My guess is you've noticed a substantial increase in your quality of life since you started carrying that baby! :D:thumbsup: That's what a good scout will do for you! (Heck almost any bailed knife hanging in my pocket makes the world brighter for me.)

Out of the Garden (series)

Wild Onion seed harvest with the help of the old Dolphin Cutlery Co. Remember the flower head photos...cut..let dry..extract seeds from the pods...use a fine dolphin to tease away the chaff...walla...next years crop  The seeds are good for a year maybe two

Very educational, Gev! It's especially interesting to me that you're cultivating these wild onions, while, when I was a lad back on the dairy farm, we waged war on wild onions at every opportunity!! If just a few cows ate them, the onion taste permeated the whole tankful of milk from 30 dairy cows! :(

Thanks, Gary! Nice lambsfoot with an appropriate prop.

I'm still carrying the Ancient along with my red Cadet.

Thanks for your always-supportive comments, Dean!
That Tan & Crimson pair you have today is handsome!

Thanks Gary, we have a breeding pair, and just do one litter at a time. Mangalitsas take much longer to come to market weight, so the investment is quite high at slaughter time(280lb). My new boar is less than a year, and already 190lb, our sow is still young. They are a lot of fun to be around, sweet animal, and they taste unreal! I appreciate the kind words and thoughts, thank you folks. We have some basic internet out there, so I will try and keep up around here, it has been a great 6 years here.

5K Qs 5K Qs Lol, out of the last 20 post I believe you have posted 16x GT :D:p
Interesting that you brought that up, Brett! :D I just took the dogs out to do their evening things, and while they were busy, I was thinking about my posts. Usually, I multi-quote and catch up with about 24-36 hours of this thread all at once. Tonight I decided to change things up and respond to one post at a time. As I compared the 2 approaches while tending the dogs, I decided that I didn't really care for the one-reply-at-a-time approach, mainly because it felt like I was "monopolizing the posting conversation". Sounds like you noticed the same thing!:( Probably won't try this again after this evening.

GT, I didn't mind your new look, didn't feel like a monopoly to me. I could see how it might cramp your meticulously crafted posts.

I agree, thumbs up to Frank. I've been on a few poorly moderated boards that we're pretty worthless.

FBC, your KA-BAR with the wood covers and TL-29 shield REALLY appeals to me!:thumbsup: But I don't think I'd trade mine for yours because my silver/black Camillus is, IMHO, one of the most elegant knives I have! (Unfortunately, it's also one of the few carbon steel knives I have that's impervious to my sharpening attempts.)

- GT
I don't blame you, Gary, That Camillus is sleak and sexy. as for the sharpening, those blades are thick behind the edge. Are you sure you are hitting the apex?

Thanks GT! I'm not sure I can claim a demonstrable QoL improvement as I carried it today, but I have been enjoying this knife quite a bit.

It's humbling to be the new caretaker of a knife that is probably 30 years my senior. It's clearly been well cared for and I intend to keep up that tradition so that it remains both fit and active for many years to come.

Thanks for the kind words, Jack! :)
I noticed that you changed knives today, but stuck with lambsfoot and penknife.
Your moral compass comment is certainly true, but it got me thinking about if there's such a thing as an immoral compass, and if so, how is it used or what effect does it have??:rolleyes:
I haven't (yet) turned into a Henderson's Relish fanatic; still haven't found the right application, I suppose. Or perhaps its benefits are too subtle for me, since I need to be figuratively smacked over the head with the aggressive taste of Tabasco Sauce, for example!:p

Different days here my friend :) I'm going for another Lambsfoot and Penknife combination today :) Thanks GT, I have had a couple of rotten compasses over the years! :D I hope the Henderson's grows on you, I'm told it's good in a Bloody Mary - and on cheese on toast! ;) I think it may have been considered "spicy" in Victorian times, but I don't regard it as spicy at all, much as I love it :)

Carrying another of my Arthur Wright Lambsfoot knives today, and a Thomas Turner Penknife
