What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Hope everyone has a good Friday :) Got my lungs full of WD40 at the moment

Beats an evening down the pub I suppose :D
Look forward to your report.

Home from a few days away at the coast. Took along something beach-proof(ish).

Welcome back GT! :) Always like seeing that pic of your Cadet

Superb Harry, hope you saw my message

Carrying two old friends for Old Friends Friday today ;) Alfred Blackwell Lambsfoot and a George Ibberson Penknife

Hope everyone has a good Friday :) Got my lungs full of WD40 at the moment

That is some great old bone on that Lambsfoot, Jack.....and quite the pile of treasure.

It was hard to make a choice this morning but finally settled on that double bolstered Lambsfoot.

It certainly doesn't my friend! :D Particularly with the new software  Great pics, I hope you had a good time

Thanks Kevin, I imagine it was, great choice though my friend! ;) :D

My life has been so rich and full lately that I haven't been able to devote as much time to BF as I'd like to. What follows are some random ruminations on a few posts that have caught my eye thru Thursday this week.

5K Qs 5K Qs
Most of the 25's are a little tough to open, but the eo notch helps with that.
The drop point blade is a great size as is the knife overall making it a great carry by itself and especially alongside another, such as a 73 or 99.
And finally, since I got it as a user there was no hesitation to immediately use it.
Thanks for listing some of the many charms that knife has for you, Alan!

Thank you, GT. I intend to stick with this combo all week. At least until the weekend, when I have some messy work to do around the yard & garden.

That's a classy Spanish knife.
Gracias, r8shell. :) Your wooden pair have remarkable flair AND functionality!:thumbsup: That double ebony is VERY appealing!

Sometimes in becomes quite clear what kind of bird you are ;)

A Bower Barlow ...

Cool Barlow, Gev! But the video on the Bower bird was incredibly informative and entertaining!!:thumbsup: I'd heard of bower birds, but had no idea what they looked like, nor what they did. The house and grounds it constructed, all in the interest of propagating the species, were amazing! And having first seen the house and the collections surrounding it, I was surprised by the relatively small size of the bird. (I have a fairly sizable collection of traditional pocket knives now, but that doesn't seem to have resulted in an increase in the number of females looking to mate! :D)

...
Thank you my friend, terrific trio there
...
Thanks, Jack. :)

I started noticing these up for sale shortly after Jack Black Jack Black showed one here last month. I took it as a sign and bought one. The next day I heard a story on the radio about the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon. ;)

Today's my first day carrying it. Being 3/8" longer than my longest normal carry, and also quite a bit heftier, it feels quite substantial in the pocket and in hand.
Attractive stockman, Greg; congrats! I have a Schrade-Wostenholm stag canoe (won in a cache GAW) that I enjoy immensely. One of many things I like about it are the "silversmith marks" or whatever those symbols are in the 4 squares on the bolster.

Cool wharncliffe copperlock, Phixt! That's a very sleek, slender knife!

Tidioute #82 Dixie Stockman wrapped in OO. :D

Yowza, Ron!! I thought your osage orange 73 was the quintessential wood-handled folder, but that Dixie stockman is right up there, too!!:thumbsup: Both incredibly handsome knives!

lol, thanks GT! The Zamorano is gorgeous, my recent love of any knife with a white handle notwithstanding . Speaking of, what is the handle material?

My folders only flu lasted 2 days, so medical attention is probably not required :).

Well, I'm glad you don't need a doctor, Tom, and the pair you posted looks fantastic :thumbsup:, but I'm still a folder fan, not a fixed blade guy. (Don't tell anyone, but I've had a little Mora in my possession for about two months now, but haven't even been able to bring myself to use it around the house, let alone carry it!)
Thanks for the Zamorano comment. I don't know what it's covers are, other than some kind of white synthetic.

Man, that round-bolstered Kutmaster stockman is one sweet knife, FBC!!:cool:

"Mykel, that's distinctive coloring on your stag Forum knife!!Has it always looked like that, or is that the result of letting a jigged slug crawl over it???"

Thanks GT, sorry I didn't see your quote earlier.
Jigged slug made me smile,:D no slug juice was involved though.

When I first got the SJ I sanded down some uncomfortable high spots and didn't like the exposed white bone that resulted, so I dyed it very lightly with some med brown leather dye that turned more yellow than brown.
After 3 years of on and off pocket time/use it has mellowed very nicely.
Thanks for the story behind the handles on your stag BF knife, Mykel. (And for your assurance that no slugs were harmed in the photo shoot. ;))

Case Teardrop just came this morning and I stuck it in my pocket. I bought it off the exchange from my friend kysteve. Great little knife for what ever reason I've never had a teardrop pattern before and I really like it.

Congrats, Randy, on that very elegant little teardrop!

I'm usually disgusted by the look (and smell) of dead skunks, but that calf roper of yours, Dee, is definitely an exception to the rule!!:D:thumbsup:

I had Clarisse (Silence of the Lambsfoot) in my pocket today.

Clarisse, eh? She is one hot Ancient! Very nice, Bob!:thumbsup:

Packing these two today

Another desirable ebony/ivory pairing, Jack! Even more astounding to me is that it's also an addition to your lambsfoot/penknife series; how many consecutive days have you featured a lambsfoot/pen combo???:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I have weeks and weeks of specially named days invented, just to support my habitual carrying of the the Camillus C4. :D
I'm looking forward to seeing your creativity in action, Buzz!;)

Carrying these two today:

Your amazing pair has left me with bruises, Tom!:thumbsup: (Black and Blue, get it?)

As always, this week I've been carrying my Minichamp, SBJr (thanks, Bob), and scrimshawed Rough Rider (thanks, Rachel) that never leave my pockets:

Thank you my friend, I could probably keep it up for a while! ;) :D  May your life always be rich, and your days a little less full ;)

I picked up this Chinese made knife on my honeymoon almost 7 years ago in Apgar Village, MT. Ive never carried it and I certainly paid way to much for in the tourist trap store. I wasnt even into knives then, but Im glad I have it now. Slightly smaller than a GEC 83.
