What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks for admiring my knives, Jack. Sorry to hear that you (and several others) have run into so many difficulties with the new software; I feel fortunate that the "upgrade" has had little direct effect on my BF experience. Your feathery, uniquely-colored buffalo horn lambsfoot is always noteworthy, and while I admire the white-handled knife, the "star" of that photo for me is the huge cotter pin in the shaft of whatever machine the knife is resting on!:thumbsup:

Thanks a lot GT, it's certainly some machine! ;) :D

Nice line-up my friend :)

Carrying these two today, Joseph Haywood and Arthur Wright :)

Nice Jack!

The remedy? (move to the Med...) No, a decent daily carry always cheers you up, whatever the extremes of weather. Today, GEC Conductor in stainless, yes!
I keep telling my wife we should move to southern Italy. haven't been able to convince her yet. I like that Conductor. Even more so with the stainless blade.

My Stockman of the Week is this Uncle Henry 897UH (thanks, Dean):

Nice Gary. Uncle Henry's were my go to for many years.

A little 2 3/4" Ohta in my watch pocket today.

Hope Mac likes his new home, Kris. I'm sure a few ladies will help. That Boker is a handful.

Superb big Böker and fascinating big boar, Kris!! That's certainly not the kind of hog I grew up with!

Thanks Gary and Gary, he is already quite the ladies man. He is an escape artist too, but at least he walked himself back into the pen after his foray into the woods. The Boker is a terrific knife, the saw has been quite useful.

This trapper from Master Smith Jon Christensen is with this morning,

GT Well worth getting an RR Mini Barlow, nice finish and yet a small knife that's credible.

Jack Looking at the papers on the Net, I thought Britain was turning into some kind of mini Australia lately, the heat! Even in your North bit....;) Nice Loco that too.

Gary Thanks, I was lucky to be able to buy that one from Trand-don't see him much lately, more's the pity. Southern Italy eh? Maybe a bit arid there but Italy's an all round beautiful country, great landscapes seas & mountains, excellent food&wines, great sense of beauty and a seat of culture and civilisation for almost ever. I'd go to Firenze or an Adriatic place....Then there's the football..Forza Roma!:D

Thanks, Will

Great Dam blade there Kris, wonderful length to it.

That's a massive Boar! His hide/coat looks a bit Damascuslike too! Happy rooting up the ground, no need for ploughing now:D:D

Regards, Will

Thanks Jack, don't know a lot about railways but as a kid I was haunted by reading about the record holding 'Mallard' steam locomotive and similar A4 class engines...

Me neither Will :) Here's a couple of pics of the Mallard though. If you ever get a chance to visit the National Railway Museum in York, I thoroughly recommend it  It was there (about 4 years ago) that I took the pic of my John Petty Sleeveboard ;)

I don't know what it is about old trains but Im in awe like a little kid when I see one. Nice pics.

I got this a few days ago. It looks like it reads Richards Sheffield England ( my first ). Nothing fancy but I do like it. Any info about it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks :)

Nice find, I have one like that too :) Richards of Sheffield date back to the early 1930's, being established by German immigrants to the city, Stephen and Paul Peter Richartz, together with their colleague Wilhelm Muller. Like Imperial (who later bought them), they went on to specialise in pocket-knives, with a swinden-key construction, and hollow pressed-steel handles with celluloid covers. They were very inexpensive, and sold by the thousands in British seaside resorts, as well as inland, in the 1950's, 60's, and 70's. Several members of my family worked for Richards at various times, including my father. The knives obviously have their limitations, but usually sharpen up OK

Scenic indeed

Very nice Erik

Great pics Jack!

As usual, a dazzling daily duo from you, Tom!:thumbsup: I hope you're correct that the photo-limit info can help you solve your multi-quote struggles. But my experience is that you're not informed of the limit until you actually try to post a message that exceeds it; then you'll get a red alert that you can't post because only 20 pics are allowed. I can multi-quote without limit; it's only when I try to actually post that the limit is invoked.

Thanks GT! Somehow I got it to work today, although I can't remember how I did it; I think it was clicking "quote", and then "reply", on each individual post. Maybe.

Nice carries sir, especially like the stockman.

My Camillus C4 will be accompanying me on this "Tang Stamp Tuesday".

Thanks Jack.. i wasn't sure about the handle material. It's kind of a faux horn I guess.;). the blade is off center quiet a bit. So it's safe to say it's a few rungs below a Rodgers Lambsfoot? :)

That's pretty awesome to me that your dad and other family members worked there. Thus your vast knowledge huh? Thanks again buddy.
