When the Beer Scouts first came out, the smooth bone wasn't even on my radar. It did nothing for me. But over time, it's grown on me in a big way. I really, really like the look now.

Whatever you're doing with the lighting really shows the depth of the jigging.Very nice.

"The 20-photo limit is somewhat restricting for multi-quoting, but it's not as bad as it originally looked compared to the previous 75-image limit, since that 75 counted both emojis and photos as images, while the new set-up doesn't seem to count emojis."
Thank for this GT, I think this may be at the root of my multi quoting woes, I didn't know about the limit.

Very cool Mr. Black

R8shell, I'm just getting started with Tom's @Whetstone39 lightbox he recently mentioned. Basically a 1' square corrugated cardboard box open in front and top, and lined with bright white printer paper. Then a sheet of the same on top, with a daylight fluorescent lamp above.
As Tom put it, the white diffuses the light, reducing glare and lighting the subject from multiple directions. I find the black background interesting as the knife becomes the subject instead of being only the focal point of a composition. (I recall Bernard Levine doing something similar with a flatbed scanner.)
Great book as well as some lovely knivesA Wadsworth thumbnail-preverver.

And a AG Russell and Case ditto.

Thanks, Jack. The Ettrick really is a cool knife pattern. That Special bone on the Lambsfoot is special! I dig that pen knife too.

Thanks for the comments as always Gary. No, the 25 hasn't replaced the 73, but they do make a wonderful pair. In fact they ride in opposite pockets like Bert and Ernie.
They certainly do make a wonderful and versatile pair, Alan.Again and again.View attachment 725105
Thanks for the follow-up info, Frank. They were indeed the rage, as new patterns usually are. Especially ones with the Bose touch in the design.
It's a nice pattern with useful blade shapes and excellent fit and finish. And it's unnoticeable in my pocket when I carry it.
Thanks for the additional info on your "lambsfoot peanut".It's just a single blade Peanut. I picked it up for a few bucks because I kinda liked the way it was over-sharpened into a mini-lambfoot. View attachment 724887
As to sharpening while drinking, I'm not saying I get my best results...

I know you've been having frustrations with trying to get a photo posted, but your efforts are worth it! That's a splendid old knife, W.M.B.!!well, on my computer this seems to work fine. it must be my phone.![]()
Thanks for the favorable comments about my lady leg and peanut, FBC!That's a lot of leg , Gary.
Also, those are some great covers on that Peanut
Thank you, that Lambsfoot is new to the collection. I will have to carry Rosie thrice for every one time I carry this new unnamed Lambsfoot just to keep her happy.

Took this Ettrick out for a spin today.

Terrific trio of Cases, John!I carried several Case knives today. Trapper, Stockman, Peanut.
...
And as usual, I didn't need to use a single one of them for anything.
First-rate photo of your Buck Cadet, Mossyhorn!
Thanks for admiring my knives, Jack. Sorry to hear that you (and several others) have run into so many difficulties with the new software; I feel fortunate that the "upgrade" has had little direct effect on my BF experience. Your feathery, uniquely-colored buffalo horn lambsfoot is always noteworthy, and while I admire the white-handled knife, the "star" of that photo for me is the huge cotter pin in the shaft of whatever machine the knife is resting on!I don't have a problem with the limit in replies, where the count works, but I do find I 'lose' posts I'd wanted to quote, and find it harder to edit those posts and the pics without accidentally deleting the whole post. Replying on my phone is near impossible for me! Thanks my friend, those are two really useful knives, great pic of your Electrician

Edit - Oops! Forgot to include today's carry!Have a good week everyone

Pleasant pair, Will!...
Anyway, small scale today. Rough Rider Mini Barlow lockback, I like the Armour Hide Bone on this series, nice and thick.

Superb big Böker and fascinating big boar, Kris!!Mac, our new breeding Mangalitsa boar, seems to be digging his new flat. Stressful day yesterday getting this extremely strong 225lb guy into a tralier and home, over 400 miles. He was a little stressed out, but his new pasture is nice and peaceful for him. This Boker is such a fantastic knife,

I can certainly see why you favor that charismatic couple, Pomsbz!![]()
Queen Copperhead and Victorinox Pruner. My current favourite two pocket knives.
That looks like a productive pair to put on the job, kmboldon!
Since today just happens to be "Many Tools Monday", I have no choice but to reach for my Camillus C4. Many tools indeed!!!!...
As usual, a dazzling daily duo from you, Tom!5K Qs
