What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Ahh, I'm drooling over the keyboard again this morning (my wife thinks I'm a looney LOL). Alan @AShearer and FBC @flatblackcapo, I especially like your offerings, and what a different and unique trio Ted T. Erdelyi T. Erdelyi . I am hoping that Mr. Cover makes it to our Badgerland show next year.

Heading out with my buffalo horn jack again today.

Thanks, it is a beautifully done piece.

Thank you sir! That's a nice looking horn jack. I've come to appreciate horn recently. It's an interesting cover.

Mineral oil helps keep the horn from drying out.

Nice Ablett Barlow Donn

Wright's really seem to be on top of their game with their horn at the moment. Used to be it was just in black, but they have some nice reddish stuff lately, as well as the golden oxhorn and their 'special buffalo', which has a lot of character. I think the last two are still 'special order' though

Cheers; it's my only Ablett so it never leaves the house. I recall you saying something about the special order scales, I think it was in your very interesting thread detailing your visit to their factory but I must say it never occurred to me to enquire. Maybe next time I think :)

I am somewhat partial to brass in general and though I know it isn't for everybody, I do wish more knives used it for more than just liners. That long brass bolster is excellent.

Cheers, Padruig. I do like brass bolsters, they develop a very mild patina over time. They still seem to be very popular with the few Sheffield cutlers remaining. Saying that I was thinking just the other day that I think some of the Sheffield knives would suit some really nice nickel or iron bolsters.

Thanks for the compliment Donn :) Most of the remaining firms use nickel silver, but because it's the cheap stuff (with a high brass content), it can look like brass. That's penny-pinching Yorkshiremen for you! ;) :D

Moore maker (a very underrated knife here imho) in 1095 and city knife today. Got my master cylinder mount made up and it fits behind the dash! Happy about that. Back to running tubing now.

Nice picture and nice knives Joey . I was wondering where you have been . I can see now that you have been busy . Never have built a car , but I have built a number of concrete pumps from the floor up . I hope that you keep us up-dated on your progress. Have fun my friend .

Out of the Garden (series)

I woke up to the Tomato worms and my only, just ripe, Mortgage Reduction (large tomato magnificence ) destroyed by some large animal. Oh the pain of the gardener :(

I guess since my back ( think dagger jab in spine...is life over? ) is on the mend ( knock on wood..praise ice and chiropractor(s) )....it's a wash :D

Today's meager harvest but harvested with joy and a peaceful mind

Beautiful picture Gevo even though it is missing your huge tomato . We tried the Mortgage Lifters one year and were happy with them , but have not seen any more of their plants for sale lately . That is quite a story on how they got their name too .

Yes...I stand corrected, my friend. Mortgage Lifter. It's my first time with them. The plant only produced one tomato so far...and it was beautiful. I was so looking forward to tasting it ! Now that you say that, maybe I should at least harvest some seeds. I will look up the name provenance
The NYKCo got a sharpening out of the deal and some EVOO on the ebony
Have a great day, Harry. And you too Kris

Smashing garden and those barlows are pure goodness, Harry

Well I never knew that! Thanks for correcting me, you are as always a font of knowledge. And I must apologize to Padruig for talking total pants

Sufferin' Succotash, Dee!! My first thought was, "That's a couple of snazzy snakewoods there!" But then I did a stupendous double-take and realized the one on the slip is a splendiferous snakewood Vic Minichamp, is that right??:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Gary!
You are correct. :)

Have I told you I never tire of this one ^^^^^? :D
