What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Had to drive into town this morning so (of course) I wore my driving sunglasses and carried my "goin' to town" knife, a slim 3.25" stockman.

Thanks Gary!:thumbsup: Your Stag Peanut is quite a nice Case in its own right!! :)
Gary, I'm liking the looks of that stag- handled Peanut!
Thanks for the stag Peanut comments. That knife is one of my favorite gun&knife show finds.

A 1979 Camillus utility knife.
When I was in the Marines in 79 the supply sergeant for our shop gave these and TL-29s out to everyone, but I didn't care for either at the time and gave mine away.
So when I saw this one on the exchange recently I had to have it for nostalgia's sake.
I like to think this is the one I gave away way back then.
Ya never know....

Cool story, mykel; I'm almost certain that's the very knife you gave away 38 years ago! ;)

I am not 100 % Gary...but I think so. It is a W.R. Case & Sons slimeline single blade trapper...old
Thanks for the details, Gev!

Thanks GT! I can only take credit for the brat, my lady made everything else. I have had a small victory in convincing her there are other colors she might like, and I am now scouring the internet for a pink, purple or salmon (salmon??!?!?) colored specimen. I think that is the only way my pioneer will achieve freedom.

The Martinez is especially nice, sorry if I have asked this before but are those buffalo scales?
Interesting complications on the orange Pioneer, Tom. ;) All I've had to get my wife in terms of knives was a purple Vic Classic (and I gave her a small Buck toothpick that I thought was too small for my tastes).

Not buffalo on the Martinez; it's economy-class all the way, and that's a main reason (as is the anchor) I got it. Covers are ABS, some kind of synthetic thermoplastic. The 3 letters are the first letters of the ingredients used to make the stuff: Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene. I googled "ABS material" to find the name, and also found that it's what Legos are made of! (And lots of ping-pong balls are being made with ABS now instead of with celluloid!)

Thanks "5K Qs". The beast on the shield is a boar !!! Yes I think Is that a Weidmansheil "trademark"?
A boar! Thanks, Pt-Luso. When I saw the shield, I thought the animal looked familiar, but I couldn't think of where I'd seen it. But this morning, my memory suddenly pulled up Rodents of Unusual Size from the Fire Swamp in the movie The Princess Bride; I'm almost positive that's what the shield reminded me of!

I meant to comment on Alan's knife, but it dropped out of my multi-quote! I'm not generally a fan of the style (though I really like the older pattern of leg and shoe knives), but I think that is a great-looking knife, the best I've seen  Nice to see it Alan
Some day I'm going to start a thread extolling the virtues of the lady leg knife!

Thanks pal, that was my very first TC, and a gift from Charlie :) I need to pick up some ram's horn, it has a lot of character, think it'd look great on a Lambsfoot :)
...
What a great trio of knives! :)
I think you're right, Jack: ram's horn on a lambsfoot knife would be much more "natural" than buffalo horn!:D
Thanks for complimenting yesterday's trio; they (and I) appreciate it. :)

...
Carrying these 2 today, my large A.Wright Lambsfoot with 'special buffalo', and a smaller Joker with olivewood :)
...
Those are a couple of your more memorable knives to me, Jack. I especially like the Joker, and when I saw one just like it in Spain, I felt obligated to get it. I'm thrilled that I did, but I've recently realized that my 4.5" model is probably considerably larger than yours, instead of identical too it - no regrets, though! :D

Hope everyone had a safe holiday!

Holy Pocketworn Pick Bone, Ramrod!! That's a gorgeous old knife! (I'm not really sure what pick bone jigging is, but that knife illustrates what I currently think the term means.)

Cool background, cooler Cadet, coolest belt hanger, Travman!:thumbsup::cool:

Lovely knife, Tim, and those old insulators are also exemplary!:thumbsup:

Fabulous knives, Harry!:thumbsup: But you're REALLY confusing me by having a two TEWs day on a Wednesday instead of a Tuesday!;)

Nice pairing Jack. I am of course partial to the Joker :). For Wooden Wednesday:

W:eek:W! World-class wondrous wood wholly worthy of Wooden Wednesday, Whetstone!!:thumbsup::D

This is today's carry...

Handsome Barlow, as usual, Atiger! But I think I actually prefer almost any of your vintage Barlows.:thumbsup:

Two days in a row. I'll have to mix it up tomorrow.

Well-groomed wood on the knife of a wandering wayfarer for Wooden Wednesday! Well-done, Dschal!:thumbsup::cool:

Great knives today everyone! :D

Oh! Oh! Just dazzling, Ron!:thumbsup:

Super shot of a stellar knife, Bob!:thumbsup: As someone else said recently, you know all the angles! ;)

I really liked your Italian knife, lambertiana, but Photobucket has stolen the photo since I last checked.

My Big Knife of the Week is a Rough Rider Half Hawk:

As always, I'm carrying a chestnut jigged bone CV Sodbuster Jr (thanks, Bob), photographed where we vacation each summer. I'm looking forward to being there in a month!
