Nice pic! Like your username too, huge fan of that show.

I can see that great-looking pair speaking to you Tom :)

Thanks Jack! :)

Beautiful TC Drew

Gorgeous scales Ron

I have a really deep watch pocket on the pants I wore today, so I pulled out "Big Red" for work.

Big Red looks fit and ready for duty Jeff, I love those shields.

Nice carries today fellow porch people:cool:

A Gabon Ebony #66 stockman arrived today from Barry and she's a beauty, thanks Barry:thumbsup:

Perfect f&f, no blade rub (no problem if it did) solid blades and I love the Gabon covers and simple oval shield:cool:

Yowza, congrats Paul

Interesting complications on the orange Pioneer, Tom. ;) All I've had to get my wife in terms of knives was a purple Vic Classic (and I gave her a small Buck toothpick that I thought was too small for my tastes).

Not buffalo on the Martinez; it's economy-class all the way, and that's a main reason (as is the anchor) I got it. Covers are ABS, some kind of synthetic thermoplastic. The 3 letters are the first letters of the ingredients used to make the stuff: Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene. I googled "ABS material" to find the name, and also found that it's what Legos are made of! (And lots of ping-pong balls are being made with ABS now instead of with celluloid!)

W:eek:W! World-class wondrous wood wholly worthy of Wooden Wednesday, Whetstone!!:thumbsup::D

As always, I'm carrying a chestnut jigged bone CV Sodbuster Jr (thanks, Bob), photographed where we vacation each summer. I'm looking forward to being there in a month!

Thanks for the information and the kind words GT! Same material as legos, that should be some tough stuff! I always like seeing that pic of the sodbuster, makes me want to get on the water :).

Two of my favorites with me today:

and the price is waaaaaay cheaper.

Try one . You won't be sorry over the $50-$60 you spent. No wonder you never see these for sale. veryone holds onto them.

I went to New York City for the Fourth of July, so I've been carrying a SAK that I'd mailed ahead. I don't know how the natives cut their bagels & gravlox with butter knives. :DView attachment 730117

Home, now. I was missing George and Echo. George is in my pocket, Echo is out playing in the yard.

ps. have I been sporting a big ol' photobucket warning in my signature line all week? It doesn't show on my phone, so I couldn't see it until I got home. How embarrassing! (also, confusing. I can't figure how to directly upload one to replace it)
Hope you had a good trip, r8shell, but there's certainly no denying that "Gee, but it's great to be back home!" :)Weren't a blue Alox SAK and your mother a component of this trip?

I hadn't carried my Schrade Barlow in a while and stuck it in my pocket this morning.

I'd feel like I have to wear my fanciest pants when carrying such a fancy, ornate-bolstered Barlow! ;) Very nice, Randy!

I wonder how, even though, maybe, dad personally engraved "Dianne R." on that piece of history. It ended up here?;) Ironically, this Colibri watch is engraved to someone else. From yard sale.
ClRtWTnl.jpg
Speaking of fancy and ornate, that's an amazing watch, Methuselah! I sometimes wonder what the story of Dianne R and her Girl Scout knife was, but all I know is I picked it up at a tiny Sunday flea market in a small town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, from a guy who had a couple dozen assorted folders in a box.

...
Carrying these two today, Unity Lambsfoot and a Harrison Fisher Crown Penknife

Couple of complementary beauties, Jack!

Old Binghamton Cutlery today

That seems to be an admirable knife, CapVid!:thumbsup: I don't recall seeing many knives here from that maker!

I'd start with tightening a few loose slotted screws, a nice glass of wine before dinner, then a can of beans, mixed with thinly sliced hot dogs, a cold beer for dessert. :)
:D:D:thumbsup::D:D

...
Some fantastic knives from you all lately and some different stuff for me to look at as well. Carrying this guy with me today.

You're "in the clover" with that handsome Drover, Dylan!:cool:

And a pleasing pair it is, Alan!:thumbsup:

These two seemed to say "pick me" this morning :).

You must be happy with such excellent knives, Tom, but I'd be a bit concerned about the voices you hear! ;)

I don't usually like old soup, but Drew, your Ancient Soup is extremely tasty!!:cool::thumbsup:

Wow, Dee, that photo inspires me to write an equation!:cool::thumbsup:;)

With a knife like that, you MUST be a gentleman, Ron!!;)

Thanks Gary! That is beautiful Bone on your RR Half Hawk, a great looking knife!:thumbsup:
Thanks, Ron. In a recent thread, I thanked some members who had inspired me to get my most recent bunch of knives. I didn't include you there because your inspiration goes back a ways. But after admiring your Hay'n Helper several times (do you now, or did you ever, have a two-blade version?), I was inspired to get a Rough Rider that I thought was very similar to the Hay'n Helper, namely the Half Hawk. So thanks again! :D:thumbsup::cool:

Looks sublime, Kevin!:thumbsup::cool: How big is that toothpick? I really like a big (4") toothpick, preferably with two blades.

Outstanding TC Barlow example, Ironbut!:thumbsup:

CV & Atiger, couldn't have framed up these two together if you'd tried. Nice yellow bone!

Spent some quality time beauty shopping this last night. The recesses of the jigging were quite dull. After trying to clean with cleaner and a brush I resorted to some Flitz cream and a buffer pad on my Dremel tool, then followed up with paste wax.
IMG_20170707_105205820~2-1377x2448.jpg IMG_20170707_105343892_HDR~2.jpg

Addendum. The white specks in the bone are not apparent to my eye. I'd wondered about the wisdom of Flitz on bone, thought it worked out ok, now not so sure. I'll have to check for embedded Flitz with a magnifying glass.

It is a very small knife, it's just under 3 inches closed and just over 5 inches opened.

Dawson Knives #34, now known as the "Shinto." A little kaiken knife with a lot of power. About 2.5" cutting edge, about 6" overall, and about 1/8" thick. I might have posted this guy before, but as I have another Dawson on the way, I decided I needed to carry this today.

It was a great trip, and yes, I put the blue alox SAK in the package to mail ahead, thinking Mom might take a liking to it. Years ago, she bought herself "the one with all the tools" :D a Swiss champ, maybe? But she said this one was too big for her. To be honest, watching her open and close it made me nervous. I tried to show her the way to open a slipjoint smoothly, keeping fingers out of the way, but there was something just so awkward about her handling of it - it could be a hand strength issue. Anyway, back in the box it went to mail home. She still loves and uses the mini-champ I got her for her keyring.
