What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Bret Dowell in the pocket and on the hip.

Very attractive handles on the folder. Is that a blue tint to the bone?

A very sleek knife lambertina. I cannot tell if it's fixed or a folder.

Not everyone's taste,but I like it

I certainly do like your taste BD. What is the handle material, Micarta?

Don't know what I did to upset the Internet Fairy, but I'm getting it from her in spades lately :( Been carrying these two today, my anonymous Anchor Knife, and a Croisdale Fruit Knife in ivory

Sorry to hear of your plight Jack. Technology is great when it works, but when it doesn't, not so much. Very much like your Croisdale. Is the gent related to the knife in any way?

As promised (or threatened:)) More pictures of my new favorite ever day carry.

With the coined edge which adds a little class IMO

Ah Alan, you know how to pick them. I have just acquired my first Davison, will display pics when it arrives. (Looks like I'll have to wait through the weekend. Drats!)

All these posts on Whittlers convinced me to pocket one today.
Case/Bose ebony lock back Wharncliffe whittler and a Mammoth Ivory/154CM City Knife from Eldon Talley. Recycled pic.

Ha, got the same vibe apparently! I've had this for a while but first time taking it out. Excepting the sunken pins it's perfect. Such a nice knife in hand.

Very nice Gev :)

The Anchor knife has so much character to it ! Both knives are wondrous.:thumbsup:

Thank you on mine :DIt is an E.C. Simmons but I don't know who made it. The blades are solid as a rock with hard half stops and open and close :thumbsup:It gets a more refined edge tonight

Carried these two once already this week, but I do rather like them ;)

That is a great combo Jack , the white TC is striking.

Couple of stand-out knives, Tom!:thumbsup: Did you change your background cloth? I think I remember a Lou Reed song from my youth urging us all to "Take a Walk on the Pile Side".

This Marbles scout (thanks, Mike) is listed on my rotation schedule as a bailed non-SAK, but it has no bail, so my schedule needs some revisions!

This Rough Rider marlin spike is listed as "Big Knife of the Week"; I could probably just switch it with the Marbles scout on my schedule - wouldn't be much of a stretch.

My peanutish knife for this week is a Case swayback jack (thanks, Paul):

Thanks GT, yes I am experimenting with different background materials, I was thinking of incorporating some natural materials at some point (wood, stones, etc.). Tantalizing Trio, I especially like the marlin spike and the white scales

For me today:

Thanks Tom, that's modern life I guess  I did a little research on Croisdale for this thread  - http://www.bladeforums.com/threads/coming-home-to-leeds.1256431/#post-14386811 - It's lost some of the pics unfortunately :(

Very nice :)

Thanks Tom, those two look really good together

That's an opulent Opinel, lambertiana!

Haven't had much knife activity lately (and my latest buy was modern!) so with the ankermesser we go!

No need to apologize for carrying an ankermesser, A.L.! ;)

Clip blade Primble barlow today...

Primo Primble, Atiger!

Some zebra wood and a gift from a fellow Christmas baby 5K Qs 5K Qs (thanks GT).

You're welcome, Tom. :) I bought a red bone replacement for the RR scout, but now someone's hoping to win that replacement in the GAW I'm running currently, so I may have to get another one soon! Here's a little poem I composed about life:
I can't be without
A Rough Rider scout.

...
It hasn't made it to the user category yet but someone at work wanted to see it so it came out of the tube for a bit.
That's a flawless Farmer's jack, Josh! :cool::thumbsup:

Yes I can be considered a fortunate man, in fact I have a collection that I like a lot, being that most of my knives are SAK alox, as you can see from this outdated photo, since they have already entered more ...

2vw9qbs.jpg
That's a lot of Alox, Pt-Luso!!:cool: What a resplendent rainbow of SAKs!

Carried these two once already this week, but I do rather like them ;)

Isn't there an old saying along the lines of "Anything worth doing is worth repeating"? Prime pair of pocketknives, Jack!:thumbsup:

Nursing a migraine today, but my pocket game is on point.
I hope your migraine has abated; seems like that knife would be good for what ails you!! W:eek:W, what wondrously worthwhile wood!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Love that Case swayback jack! Beautiful jigging, great picture!
Thanks a million, Mark. :) One of my favorites, for sure!

Gev, I never knew that Olive Oil from the Popeye cartoons was a real person! :p

:D:D Now that you mention it, Jeff, I see the striking resemblance! :D:D

Really like your Swayback Gt .
There is a Waterline just below the top rim . Approx. 7.75 inches in it . No damage for us . We have a generator and that kept the Sump Pump running while the electric was out . People in Burlington, Wi. , 8 miles north of us , are not so lucky . The 2 rivers that converge there topped out at 3 feet over the historical record .

Harry
Thanks for the Case SBJ compliment, Harry. :)
Almost 8 inches of rain overnight is too much precipitation! Glad you were able to handle it.

Mail call from South Africa today : ) La Combre

Congrats on that unique, distinctive knife, Drew!:cool::thumbsup:

I admire that joint notable pair of Northfield Barlows, Paul & Ron!!:thumbsup: Practically twins (fraternal, not identical). ;)

Thanks for the well wishes GT. We're ok here, just kind of a crummy summer (mosquitos are worse than we've had in years). As Harry mentioned it's much worse in parts of southern WI. How's it been by you? I recall from the old site when we saw people's location that you're in SW Michigan? I'll be headed that way next week for a stay with friends on the big lake, just north of St. Joe.
Thanks for the update, Tom; glad to hear that you escaped the worst of the deluge, but sorry to hear about your mosquito woes. Hope you have a good time at the lake near St. Joseph! You're right, I'm in Grand Rapids, a ways north and inland from St. Joe.

Colt went belly up?! Man, I missed the boat again haha
I am sure there are a few still floating around. It will make it all the more fun hunting one down.
Thank you for the kind words about the Kutmaster. I am really happy with that one, with Kutmaster's version of jigged red bone.

Recycled pic of the sheepsfoot MAM.

Yeah, I was sorry to see Colt go; I am very happy with each of my several Colt knives. Happy hunting!:thumbsup: Is that the MAM that now sports a fire-brewed handle? ;)

That's staggering stag, Travman!! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I can see why you're devoted to that dazzling Davison, Alan!:thumbsup:

TC Barlow: I don't even know why I own any other knives ;)View attachment 734239
In the dark before the dawn, I can think that about each knife I have - almost any one of them would serve me perfectly well.

Thanks for the info about your photos, and thanks for the props for a couple of my recent knives.
I REALLY like the pair you've got today!!:thumbsup::cool:

I fear that I only have space in this post for one more photo. This old Colonial "Beer Scout" with cracked ice inserts covering the liners is in my watch pocket this week:

Tom: Thank you and believe me you will not be disappointed in the Davison, whatever one it is? <hint

every time I see one of those American Whittlers, I get an urge to buy it. I have still, four 13's but that one is special. For some reason, I am not pulling the trigger? < Oh, now I remember. I don't have any money:D:eek::rolleyes:
