When I was a kid I had some kind of liner lock that looked a lot like this but with a swedge, I don't know who made it or anything as it was a gift but I'm sure it wasn't the quality of a moki.

This moki is such a nice and simple looking knife, and I'm sure it's nice to use as well.
Welcome back, Dean! Superb example of a splendid pattern!Nothing wrong with posting the same knife repeatedly.
You seem to prefer sticking with one knife for several days - a one-knife guy at heart?

Nope, it pretty much looked just like this moki but with a swedge and thumb stud. It was also fairly small and slim, probably about 3.5" closed. It was most likely some cheapo and being a good design means it was probably a copy of something. Was it a Kershaw Crown? Kind of sounds like what you're describing.
This particular pocket knife is dam near my favorite on all of bladeforums. I really appreciate the all wood body. So might I ask what make and model is it please? Thanks, Gary! I do like carrying one knife for awhile as it gives me one less thing to think about when I need to cut something. When I carry a different one every day (and I have done that a lot), I always have to pause and think for a second about what I'm doing.
And some knives just demand that you spend time with them.

IDean I totally agree with your statement. And every time I see a 2015 Forum knife I wonder why I don't carry mine more often! Yours is a beautiful example and that's a great photo!![]()

Thanks for the encouraging words, 007hunter and Ron!Thanks on both compliments! I always appreciate your comments and your posts my friend! I hope you find some fine knives to go with your new Boker cap!![]()
3 cheers for the Minichamp! r8shell, it turns you into a superhero!I carry a MiniChamp on my keyring too. This should probably go in the "Did your traditional get a workout today?" thread, but:
On Friday, I was at breakfast with some folks, and the little screw and a lens fell out of one fellow's eyeglass frames. He was trying to fix it, and said, "Anyone have a knife?" The fellow I'd been comparing knives with and I put them back in our pockets as fast as we could."You need a screwdriver." "I only need to use the tip of a knife."
The Minichamp saved the day when I managed to fit the tip of the philip's head/bottle opener tool into the teeny tiny screw head and get the lens back in.
I know what you mean, Harry.I can understand anyone not really liking the Smooth Oiled Bone covers . I guess that I did not care for them too much until I bought the 77 Barlow one just because I did not have those Covers on any 77 Barlow yet . Once I got it in my hands , my opinion changed immediately . GEC does a very good job with them .

A silver and black pairing just oozes class, IMHO, Jack!!
That's a classic, John!Case 6347 Stockman today - Amber Jigged Bone, stainless steel blades.

Have a safe and enjoyable journey, Jeff!On a road trip to Illinois on the Harley. Had some rain in Arizona and New Mexico. Not too bad though.
The sheepfoot AB 77 Barlow and yellow Peanut are my companions for this 2+ week odyssey.![]()
Yowza, that pair and the stones look GREAT in the light box, Tom!!Thanks GT! Unless those stones somehow made it to a local hobby store, probably not. Someday I'll see you post a fixed blade, then the victory for the dark side will be complete. LOVE the shield on the RR
...
I have these two with me today, I had to "trade" my girlfriend an orchid colored pioneer to get my orange version back, but it worked and we may have a new knife nut emerging.

Congrats on that fine 66, Ironbut!!This #66 arrived today from another forum member.......and it's going right in my pocket.View attachment 735898
That's an exemplary knife, Ron!I have been at home today and not really Totin in the true meaning of the term. As a result I have spent a lot of time with this #13 Rust Red Whittler. I have been admiring the fit and finish. The overall design and attention to details. But most of all, and certainly not for the first time, I have been totally impressed with the high levels of skill and craftsmanship that Bill and the good folks at Great Eastern Cutlery continue to exhibit time after time.
