What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I picked this Boker Barlow up locally yesterday. This was the last one of this model, Grenadill Wood and 440C. There was several of the Bog Oak models available;). I have made a futile attempt to curb my knife spending until the Rendezvous. Oh well at least I had good intentions!

What for you swung it from bog oak to grenadil? I have a hard time making up my mind and web pictures are not that great for a comparison.

Very nice Ron I was going to buy some Rough Riders today but I may just try to find one of those Bokers

Who is the maker of the blade, if you don't mind me asking? :)

The knife was a kind gift from Brumby53 that he restored from an old I.XL Barlow, I don't know the vintage.

The covers are some Gidgee wood, very hard and hard to find, which he collected from a dead Gidgee tree on his trip to the middle of a desert in Australia some 30 years ago. He reshaped the blade from Coping to a Sheepsfoot and semi-polished it. A small project left for me to finish off to a mirror polish. He even replaced the brass liners with new ones.

I own a couple single blades on the #14 frame and wanted to try a two blade. This BEAUTIFUL oily bone presented itself in the exchange and I had to have it (thanks Dennis)

Just a lot of knife in a smaller frame, I do like this little knife.

I like everything about this.
Thanks!
The hat is a san zeno leather plainsman that my dad bought in '79 and never wore.
I wear it a bit when I'm out doing yard work or shooting my airguns but it's not an everyday hat for me. ( my all day everyday day always will be and has been since I was 12 is a US Army cap , camouflage, class 1 )

I actually liked the appearance of the Grenadill more than the Bog Oak. Also the Grenadill is not serial numbered, the Oak is. Limited to 500 pcs if I remember correctly. I may end up with a Bog Oak next weekend, my will power is non existent!:D
