I CAN attest that calling the knife a "monster" is right as rain! ;) Regarding ram's horn, there seem to be at least two types: a greenish, kind of "splintery" type like my pruner, and a browner, often smoother but grooved type. Inner and outer horn, maybe??

This picture is actually in my backyard, and the tent is set up so I have a bit more shade when doing some airgun plinking in my backyard.
However my best friend buttercup there does often like to lay in it sometimes.
 
This same day last year, I had my Nifebrite #71 Bull Nose in my pocket when we went to the hospital and my wife gave birth to our first kiddo, Eleanor. Here she is with that knife back then.
