What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I have just been packing my rucsac to go out on a hike here tomorrow, and putting the knives aside that I'll be carrying with me.

Haven't carried the Carl Schlieper Duncan gifted me in a while...

I usuallt carry that one in a belt sheath. Packing these two in my pockets :)

Once again, stay safe in Texas folks, and have a good weekend everyone :thumbsup:
Man that Schlieper is schweet!:thumbsup:

Thank you, GT. Your artistic alliterations are epic!
GT, you've outdone yourself wordsmithing. Simply supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Thanks for your compliments on my lambfoot. My pics are subtly adjusted to match what I'm seeing, if at all. That's very much what the grain looks like to me.
...
#618 in my pocket today. This knife has a great feel in hand, and looks to match:

Thanks for noticing, Rachel and Tom! :) Sometimes I do silly stuff to amuse myself.:rolleyes:
Tom, I agree that your Davison definitely looks vibrant!

Today was a 2 jack day.
...
Couple of classic jacks there, Randy. :thumbsup::thumbsup: I like both the Case and the Old Timer, with my preference being the round-bolstered Case.

Today's tote

I try to be exotic, but I always come back to the stockman, and this one shows no signs of stepping aside for anything anytime soon.

FBC & Jer, those Kutmaster stockman knives are wonderful, worthy knives. :thumbsup::cool: As I mentioned to Randy, the round-bolstered model appeals to me a bit more than does the square-bolstered one.

...
Went for breakfast with my ebony and ivory pair today, and ended up chatting to a piano tuner! :)
...
LOL! Great post GT :D :thumbsup: Thanks my friend :thumbsup:

Smashing Pioneer GT :thumbsup:

What are the odds, Jack!?! :confused::eek:
Thanks for the rambling link and the Pioneer praise. :)

It's a single blade toothpick, GT. So comfortable in the pocket that I carried it two days straight.
Thanks for the info, Stuart. :thumbsup:

Throwback Thursday? This 1917-1946 Schrade barehead jack probably has a lot of stories to tell. The blade edge is razor thin (and sharp).

Why was there no advance notice here on The Porch of National Knife Day??? :(:eek: Where were the parties and the food??
Steve, my opinion is you couldn't have made a better choice for a special day; 2-bladed EO teardrop jacks are so appealing, and yours has fabulous bone! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

That's a tasteful, tidy knife, Will! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today in my pocket and working with a TC Barlow, having a knife like this for company the life runs with more joy!!!

I totally agree, Pt-Luso!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::) Do I NEED all these knives? Of course not! But they certainly bring additional joy into our lives! :cool::D:thumbsup:

You've spotlighted a dazzling duo, Alan!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Happy Friday all!

Black and orange are one of my favorite color combos, Tom! :cool::cool::thumbsup: How are you liking the SBJr?

... So these are the three I selected before going home yesterday and I suspect they will be among the few that I take home with me for the weekend later on today.

Tremendous trio, Dylan! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool::cool:

I can't say I'm actually carrying the new one, rather admiring it and carrying the older one around the house. Good stuff!

Phenomenal pair, L.H.S.!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool:

This time a year ago , I thought a TC Barlow and a 25 Northfield Barlow were both made of UNOBTAINIUM . Carried these 2 today after the U.S.Mail came .

...I am a very happy with both of them .

Looks like you have every base covered GT, that ALOX is dripping with character.

My first official BladeForums knife is on-board today.
Congrats to Harry & tmd & Tom & r8shell on their pairs, all of which include the new BF Barlow!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Well, I've done it again. :mad: Fell behind this thread, and then included too many photos as I tried to catch up, so I don't have space to show my own knives! :rolleyes: I think I can include one more photo here, and then I'll post more later this evening, I hope. Here's my Euro Knife of the Week, a gift that my daughter got for me in Toledo, Spain once upon a time:

Spooky eh? :D When I walked in, I remarked that he was better than their previous piano player! :D I got talking to the guy, as I'd just seen a nice old metronome for sale in the market. He showed me where the previous tuner had left his mark - in 1930! :eek: :D

Thanks my friend, nice to see that one again :)

Have a great weekend everyone :thumbsup:

These today : The 85 Stag obtained at the Rendezvous and the 48 provided by my good friend Half/Stop Half/Stop Ron . The 48 is 1 of 25 in Cracked Sea Shell Acrylic .

Harry

Harry that is a handful of great knives there buddy! :cool: I still can't figure out how I didn't get to handle that 85 at Titusville! :thumbsup:

I'm on the 2nd day with my '17 TC Forum knife. I have always been a fan of straight edge blades. Wharncliffe, Sheepfoot, Lambsfoot, I love them all. Speaking of which my two new TC's were in the mail today. No time for photos but maybe tomorrow after the yard work. :D

Thanks, Gary. That Toledo is a mighty fine knife!

Long time lurker, first time poster other than replying to sales ads. Here's a lovely new addition thanks to dispatch184 dispatch184 , the Lion Steel Roundhead Barlow in rams horn.

Great first post, cobbgoblin. Welcome!
That's the darkest ram's horn I've seen so far on any of the Roundhead Barlows. I'm amazed by the variety on those. :thumbsup:

Thanks Ron !!!! I guess I thought that you would not like to see my new knives because I figured you had 2 or 3 of every pattern and cover material . The 85 has Burnt Stag and I think they did a very good job with the transitions of the Stag to the Bolsters . I was lucky that Will ( from Houston ) allowed me to get one of the 3 that they had . He was ahead of me with first choice and let me choose from the 3 . A real gentleman . Take care my friend .

Interesting story, Jack. :cool: I wonder if 90 years or so is the piano manufacturer's recommended interval between tunings! :eek::D

Thanks, GT. The covers on the Toledo are really nice. I'd carry that. Your daughter has good taste.
Thanks, Gary. That Toledo is a mighty fine knife!
Jack, Stuart, and FBC, thanks for the kind remarks concerning my Spanish knife! :)

Here are more of the knives I've carried this week.
Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is a Rough Rider whittler with spearpoint main blade:

Peanut of the Week is a brown jigged delrin Case stainless peanut I won in the first GAW I ever entered (thanks, Cory):

Watchpocket Knife of the Week is a Colonial jack (thanks, Mark). I need a better photo than this one:

(Of course, I also have my knives that are carried EVERY week: small Rough Rider white bone stockman with scrimshaw by r8shell, a Case chestnut jigged bone CV Sodbuster Jr I won in a GAW (thanks, Bob), and a Vic Minichamp. I won't post photos of them this week.)
