What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks for the kind words Randy! I have never been a fan of a knife much smaller than 3-1/2" in length for EDC. The 25 is the first small knife that actually has a bigger feel to me. I can't really explain it. I guess I must be mellowing a bit in my old age but I can see my self Totin one of these 25's more and more. Hey it fits perfectly in the watch pocket of my jeans and the TC or NF Barlow will still carry nicely in my right front pocket. There's nothing wrong with Totin two Barlows! :D
I always had basically the same thoughts Ron. 3 &1/2 " or bigger for an EDC and smaller for an EDC was not OK . But a 25 feels short but not little . The only reason that I bought a 25 was because some were Barlows . But once I got hold of one , my opinion changed within minutes . And I really like the Northfield 25 Barlow Bolsters. That is the Cherry on the top . 2 or more Barlows in your pockets at one time is perfectly acceptable to me too .

That one sparkles like the dew, Dee!! :cool::thumbsup:

I like them all, but that Vic Champion is a toolbox! very cool.
Thanks, Stuart. :)

It's been a light but steady rain all day. I thought my patina and the rain drops played nicely together.

Great pic, Shawn! :cool::thumbsup:

No kidding?! You'll need one of those Jack Black-style day packs LOL.
Oh yeah, full frame backpack.:D
:D:D Actually, Tom, I'm experimenting this week with a "fanny pack" to hold my knives, phone, flashlight, etc. My work requires me to frequently visit schools where pocket knives are typically not welcome. Just unbuckling the fanny pack to leave in the car is a LOT easier than emptying all my pockets! And my pants stay up much better! ;)

Stunning knife, ISKski!! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

Carrying my old Dream Team today ;)

Good to see those two partnering again, Jack! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: But what in the world is the Abbeydale resting on?? It looks like the Log of Melted Coins, or something equally Dalian!! :confused:

Pt-Luso & Ron, those stag 25s are stupendous!! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

These two on a foggy Tuesday.

Those two should act like beacons of light on a foggy day, Tom!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

The Moose today, I really like this knife a lot and it remains one of my best slicers.

Splendid wooden duo, Rachel! :thumbsup::thumbsup: What do the notches in the handle of the hawkbill signify?? ;)

In honor of the Porch I am carrying 3 Blade Forums Knives in sheaths today (this still has to be lighter than all those sodbusters GT stuck in his pockets). :D:eek:

Tremendous trio, Randy!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: Lovely knives like those feel light in the pocket; they practically float! :p

As usual, this older John Primble Congress pattern rides in my watch pocket, very handy knife and a bit of a looker too...;)

Dazzling damascus, Jeff!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm lightening my pockets today with this Ulster physician's knife (3 5/8" closed). My cribbed list of Ulster tang stamps doesn't show the one used here so I think that it was made circa "sometime ago".

Thanks Ron.
Thank you Harry. It is Desert Ironwood.
Thanks Gary. I agree with Ron about the beauty of the bone coloring on your RR Sowbelly. Nice!

GT, good idea. I do remember when fanny packs were all the rage, was it in the'80s? My wife is on the Ski Patrol at our local hill, and finds her FP indespensable for exactly the reason you mention, easy on, easy off.

Splendid wooden duo, Rachel! :thumbsup::thumbsup: What do the notches in the handle of the hawkbill signify?? ;)
I've read a number of theories regarding three notches on a knife. From marking it for use only with dairy and fish for those who keep kosher, to noting confirmed kills. I doubt either of those apply to this working knife. The number three has significance in many cultures, so maybe it's for good luck and protection. In other words: I have no idea, it was that way when I got it. o_O :D

Now it's Wooden Wednesday, so I'm adding a little tree to my day's carry.
