Thanks Gary!

I always enjoy the Bone on that Sowbelly, just a beautiful knife my friend!
...
Thanks Gary. I agree with Ron about the beauty of the bone coloring on your RR Sowbelly. Nice!
Thanks, Ron & Bob.

That RR sowbelly introduced me to the pattern, and it may be my second favorite pattern (after canoes). I have quite a few, and they're all beauties to me (including one Ron knows well). Last weekend I had a Sodbuster Sat/Sun; maybe I'll go all sowbellies SATURDAY, SUNDAY, and LABOR DAY MONDAY!!!

(As the announcers on radio ads for the local dragstrip used to scream.

)
Since I got this one on Saturday, it has really grown on me
That one has a lot of charm, lambertiana; congrats!!

Stag lockback coffin jack?
This Scout was one of my first GEC knives, I carry it often!

I've always thought those sheep/pen EO Scouts were incredibly attractive knives!

Exemplary horn on that lambsfoot, FBC!!

GT, good idea. I do remember when fanny packs were all the rage, was it in the'80s? My wife is on the Ski Patrol at our local hill, and finds her FP indespensable for exactly the reason you mention, easy on, easy off.
Well GT, you won't believe what I found, a Buck Scout waist pack. Yes, that Buck.

Get yourself some fishing tackle plastic organizers and you're in business.
Thanks, Tom.

That Buck pack seems immense compared to the tasteful little black leather one I've been strapping on/off this week!!
I've read a number of theories regarding three notches on a knife. From marking it for use only with dairy and fish for those who keep kosher, to noting confirmed kills. I doubt either of those apply to this working knife. The number three has significance in many cultures, so maybe it's for good luck and protection. In other words: I have no idea, it was that way when I got it.
Now it's Wooden Wednesday, so I'm adding a little tree to my day's carry.

Splendid sylvan trio for WW, r8shell!

I'd never heard of the notches to indicate a knife reserved for a specific purpose, but that makes sense.
There's been a few Otter Messers around lately, so I thought I'd bring this out for a carry.
Clean, simple, sturdy, elegant.
And at just over 4 1/8" closed, looks like it'd ace the all-important peanut-butter-spreader test too!
I'm a fan of Otter's big spearpoints (as on my Black Cat)!

Are the handles of your knife some kind of blond horn, Chin?
Simplicity from the early 1970's this morning. I picked it out of the drawer
as soon as I eyed it.

I see what you did there, Stuart!

Stellar stag on that knife; in this case, the "eyes" have it.
That Böker Barlow is still looking big-league, Grateful!

My new to me Dunlap again today. And gotta show the file work.
I'm awestruck!!

Congrats on that astounding Dunlap, Joey!

You are now barking with the big dogs for sure!!!
If you ever visit over here my friend, you'll probably find it easier to explain away the dozen pocket knives than the fanny pack!
Thanks GT

A Log of Melted Coins indeed! Bizarrely, I've seen one of these before!

Nice Sabre Barlow

...
Love that big Pruner r8shell

Do you remember the three notches thread years ago?!

...
Jack, your disdain for my fashion sense reminds me of the constant abuse I get in that arena from my wife and daughter!!

Thanks for the big barlow comment, and for more photos from the Forbidden Forest!

Was there a thread about 3 notches? I can't find it (so far) using the Search function, but that doesn't necessarily mean much.
That is a cool all steel knife GT

...
These two today, trying to figure out a new way to carry the SAK without it being loose in my pocket. Looking for a horizontal belt sheath maybe.
Thanks for the good word, Tom.

Your blue Farmer is vibrant!!

I was just looking at Farmers online this morning, wondering if one should be a Labor Day purchase.
