What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Always glad to see that beauty Ron!

I carried two A.Wright Lambsfoot knives in Sambar today. Even with the size difference, and the different frames, that may seem a strange choice...

But I wanted to get a few pics! :D
Those are very pretty knives my friend. I don't see anything strange about your choice:)

It's Friday! Party time! I'll pull out these sparkly conversation-starters when I join some buddies for drinks this afternoon. Left to right, a Vermont Cutlery tadpole (I haven't figured out how to date Vermonts, though the long match strike pull may be a clue) and two baby jacks by Frank Buster/Fight'n Rooster (pre-1982 tang stamp change) with pen blades in front of mains. I like the fine engraved numbers on the Fight'n Roosters that I have.

Once again, I haven't made time to catch up with this thread for a couple of days. :( Here are a few of the many fantastic knives that have caught my eye here in the past 48 hours or so!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Randy, congrats to you on that new sheepfoot TC!!:thumbsup: Congrats to the many other BF members who have acquired knives from that run!:cool: I don't do a very good job of keeping up with the latest releases from GEC, so I don't know what covers are available on these newest TCs, but IMHO the ebony and the cranberry both are stunning!:cool::thumbsup:

Far be it to comment on ANYONE's fashion sense GT, let's just say it's question of linguistics! ;) :D  Nice threesome my friend, I have one of those Barlows myself :)
Thanks, Jack. :) Another summer has come and gone, and I still haven't made time to remove the silver paint spills from the handle of that Sabre Barlow, not have I tried to tighten up the pivot.

This is a re-cycled picture but it has been a pretty busy day : A little wood for Wednesday . This is a 38 that my wife picked out and I like it a lot .

Harry
W:eek:W, Harry!! What a sensational example of bocote covers!!:thumbsup::cool: I'm a couple of days late, but in my mind, you're this week's Wooden Wednesday Winner!;):D

I'll be up and out the door early tomorrow, with these two to hand :)
...
The stag lambsfoot and the white 25 form a dynamic duo, Jack!!:thumbsup:

...
I know it's typically Wooden Wednesday, but I'm rolling with Wiseman Wednesday today. :D

Your Wiseman is wicked, Bob!!:cool::thumbsup: (Do people in the Boston area still talk that way?? ;))

...
I tossed the ebony Lambsfoot in my pocket for Wooden Wednesday.

That Wednesday wood is allWright, FBC!!:cool:

It's a Utica lockback 4 3/4" cokebottle.
Thanks.

Northwoods Stag Jack today.

Is it stag Saturday??? ;) Travman, Alan, mykel, & Randy, those are all quite different, but all outstanding, versions of stag-handled knives!!!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

This old Hibbard, Spencer & Bartlett O-V-B today...

AT, UR HSB OVB IS A-OK!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The Railsplitter is pretty much a mainstay but I'm taking my new Little Bay for its maiden voyage today in my watch pocket. I like it a lot!

The denim micarta is delectable, Rick!:thumbsup:

That is a beautiful Joker, GT. I love that horn, very sharp looking.
...
I have these two today with Rosie riding in the back pocket, she just didn't make it into the picture this morning.

Thanks for noticing my Joker, Dylan. :) You've displayed a compelling couple of knives; the red/black combo is splendid, as is that pocket slip!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

GT, I posted that mostly due to the Buck branding. Then again, you could fit a week's rotation AND the laptop to check your spreadsheet in that thing.:p
:D:D
I was reminded by your sweet RR sowbelly to ask if you have researched the Chinese cutlery trade. Given the industrious history of China I would not be surprised to find that they've been at this a long time, only recently moving into Western traditionals. The value to price ratio being apparently (I say that, not having handled one yet) so good, it strikes me that these are the modern equivalent of our ancestor's EDCs that could have been had at the local hardware store for a few bucks.
Interesting conjecture, Tom! I don't know anything about the history of Chinese cutlery. I haven't tried any online inflation adjustment apps, but it would be interesting to see today's price for a knife that cost $2 in 1960.

Big Blue today.

I do not mind carrying a folder this big: in fact I prefer it. In it's slip, it stands up in my coin pocket, where it's much less noticeable than my keys or cell phone. The only thing I could wish for in this knife is modern SS blades, a patina not fitting with it's overall bold, showy character.
Lotta blade steel there!! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Four nationalities.

Quality quartet, Llasi! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

New, old Winchester Whittler.
Excellent choice too!

I've got another one on its way to me as a backup, I like everything about everything on these knives.

Ismaris & Will, those swell-center black box Winchester whittlers are superlative!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

First time carrying both of my TCs today: Sawcut Black Cherry #14 and BFTC #15.

Sweet "siblings" shot, Shawn! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

I tote this one a lot. Northfield #77 that was gifted to me from our own Bob a few years ago. Thank you again, Bob!
Long time, no see, Perry; welcome back to The Porch!!:) That EO Northfields Barlow is a handsome knife!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Had this small Jack 6244 with me for the week.

Ron, Falling_rain, & Travman, those are rich, resplendent red knives you're all displaying!!:cool::thumbsup:

My SBJ after my first attempt to re-profile a blade to 30 degrees inclusive on a Wicked Edge system. Really happy with the results.
...
Great pairing . What is the clip on the end of the leather attachment to the beer scout?

For me today, HAPPY FRIDAY ALL!

Your SBJr is looking SHARP, Tom! ;):thumbsup: And that blond ram's horn is noteworthy!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

This week I've been carrying a Case CV chestnut jigged bone peanut (among other knives):

Two knives I carried last week have been on kitchen duty this week, a Rough Rider melon tester and a knife my daughter got for me in Toledo, Spain:

I'm glad to see you still enjoying that one Perry.
Bob, I can't thank you enough for the kind and generous gift of this notched #77! I use it almost daily, any time we get a box in the mail. Which is often because of my wife's buying and selling of antiques.

Thanks, GT! Those melon testers are always confusing for me to gauge size-wise. The proportions are so thin and long that I can't tell the length. What's the closed length on yours?
