What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

In "case" I have to play doctor today, I put this one in my pocket. Oddly, Case's doctor pattern, number 85, is for a 3 5/8" knife, but this one (from 1905-1914) is 3 1/8". The jigged bone shows signs of lots of doctoring.

I'm still enjoying my sowbelly stockman long weekend, but I pulled out another knife "for old times' sake" today. One of my sisters sent all the siblings email yesterday with pictures of the farm on which we grew up. My brother-in-law apparently had agricultural business near the old farm last week, and decided to stop by to see what it currently looks like. (My dad sold the farm almost 30 years ago.) No one was home, but that didn't stop BIL from taking photos anyway. (I guess he left his card and a note.) Here's the barn where I learned the meaning of "work"; how's that for Labor Day? ;) Below the barn pic is a pic of the knife I always used growing up on the farm.

That lion steel roundhead is a beautiful barlow, btw is that your EDC for today?
The Roundhead is great. I knew I would like it when I reserved it months ago, i heard a lot of praise right after the release and I was still positively surprised when I received it!
Those were the things I took with me yesterday for a few hours of work: Roundhead, titanium Minipen, brass Maratac AAA, Wasteland Oddities Zippo and the notepad holder from Saddleback Leather.

I like the Mora Original 125 LE so much I decided it deserved a nicer handle. Not finished with the netting needle just yet but I just couldn't wait to show it off:

The work was done by a great guy called Indrek from Estonia. You can find him on Etsy under the name "CustomKnivesEstonia" if you want to check out more of his work.

Here ya go:

(I right-clicked the image and selected "copy image address," then pasted the result between tags here. Since it's your Imgur acct, you should be able to see a list of "Share" links to the right, or find them by [right?] clicking on your image within Imgur. You're looking for "BBCode (message boards & forums)". )

Hope this helps! :)

Me, again today:

P, that FF is gorgeous. My interest is rekindled. They use carbon steel exclusively as I recall. Does your blade take much to keep it looking good?

No pictures today. Opened my day's carry and found it had rusted! Guess I was lazy and didn't oil it last time.:(

Great-looking Whittler Kevin

Off to see ADEE and ScruffUK today, with these two in my pockets

Thanks, Jack. I like that whittler so much I have been thinking about picking up another to have as a back up. Then the logical part of my mind figures this one will probably serve me just fine for the rest of my life.... but I will probably buy another anyways. :D
That is a fine looking pair you're totin' today.

Schrade Walden 804 today.
The 804 is just a great pattern and your picture shows that one off very well.

Decisions, decisions...

Which BFC Barlow today? '09 Schatt Morgan/Queen in stag or the 2017 TC Barlow?

TC Barlow it is. ;)
It looks like you are going to need a bigger box soon. :D

Thank you my friend :) I do the same thing! :D Not quite as bad as my grandfather, who for example, thought electric kettles were such a clever invention that he bought three, just in case they stopped making them! Despite that, he kept on using his old kettle on the hob, and when he passed on, we found the three electric kettles still boxed up! And a heck of a lot of other stuff!
