What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I remember reading Jaws as a teenager Barrett! :) Nice 'beer-mat' collection, and what a stunning Rope Knife, one of Charlie's and GEC's finest I think

:D Great knife and picture, Barret, and I remember reading that as a teenager too, Jack!

Your rope knife rocks, Barrett!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, y'all! Jack, I don't recall the first time I read Jaws, but I pull it out every couple years, always in the summer, for a re-read.

I'm still enjoying my sowbelly stockman long weekend, but I pulled out another knife "for old times' sake" today. One of my sisters sent all the siblings email yesterday with pictures of the farm on which we grew up. My brother-in-law apparently had agricultural business near the old farm last week, and decided to stop by to see what it currently looks like. (My dad sold the farm almost 30 years ago.) No one was home, but that didn't stop BIL from taking photos anyway. (I guess he left his card and a note.) Here's the barn where I learned the meaning of "work"; how's that for Labor Day? ;) Below the barn pic is a pic of the knife I always used growing up on the farm.

Nice story about the family farm, GT!

Bob, I feel certain I make this comment every time you post that knife, but in my opinion that's one of the best looking knives GEC has ever put out. (And I really should carry mine more often!)

That looks delicious!

Off to see ADEE and ScruffUK today, with these two in my pockets

Great stag on that A. Wright, Jack! How's the thickness of the slabs on that one? (It's hard to tell from the angle, but they don't look too thick.) That's not a bad looking #25 you've got there, either! :D

The wife and I after a long hot day at the ranch doing some roping practice. We took Monday off from the shop. Look above our left front pockets:

Hers (bottom left) before she snagged it off our display table at a show. She liked that blue jigged bone handle:

Thanks for sharing, Dave! Your posts are always interesting! (I love that last photo!)

I still have my #15 Rope Knife in my pocket.

I just love those knives. The detail is superb and the Roger's jigging is the best I've ever seen from GEC. Solid Choice. I have a rather large collection of 15S115(s). I gotta get a few of these raindrop DT Damascus to @glennbad .

Charlie's SFO Diamond Rope Knife is arguable his best SFO outside of a TC.

Thanks, Wayne, they are beautiful knives. Yours has a great pattern on the blade, and perfectly even edge bevel, too. All three blades of mine came VERY sharp.

My Roundhead assisted me in prepping these Dove poppers for the grill.
It also helped out as a spike in a tree to hold my squirrels from this mornings hunt for a quick picture.

Dove may be my favorite game meat, those look fantastic . The knife is pretty cool too :).

Thanks Jack! And you thought Michael Jackson invented that one glove deal huh? Roping with a poly rope on a 500lb weaning and then putting the brakes on by wrapping around the saddle horn makes a guy fashion conscious right away. Nichole has her pink one tucked in her belt

:D

Thank you fine sir ! I hope your having a fine day :D

I had stay in working all day I'm afraid Gev, none the worse for wear though ;)

Thanks pal, I'll have to take an end-on pic, but I'd say it's just right  The #25 has been much admired ;) Nice to see your Rope Knife again, was thinking I need to carry my own :)

Fantastic! :) Yes, GEC's best jigging, and definitely one of Charlie's best too  I found myself looking through Charlie's old thread earlier, and it makes for some great reading:thumbsup:

About to hit the hay here, and I'll be up with the larks, and straight out of the house in the morning. Planning to carry this 'Straight' Stag Lambsfoot from A.Wright's, and the lovely #25 that came my way from Barrett :)
