What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Well i'm not totin this knife today infact im not really totin any knife today simply because i'm not allowed to have a pocketknife on me at work.
But i though it was traditional enough to show you fellas

(btw this is just a no-brand cheaply made knife they sell at the
construction store where i work)

Hi Kevin, that's an interesting pattern I've never seen. Wire stripper, I'm guessing, built into the tang. What country do you live in?

Too bad you're not allowed to carry a knife at work, the policy seems odd to me, considering you work at a construction store.

Michael

P.S. I'm new here and still figuring out basic stuff like how to reply to posts properly, I somehow got only one of your photos in my reply, oops

Today is the first day for carrying the 77 Washington Punch knife and the Schrade-Walden peanut. I've decided to try carrying two knives for a while.

Tonight I am carrying the 2016 BF knife, which has been my main EDC almost since I received it, along with the flashlight. I plan on making the 77 my EDC, but it has such strong pull, I need to give my thumb a rest today. Hopefully the 77 will loosen up with use (along with my thumb nail toughening up LOL).

Bob, Woody looks like a GREAT dog:thumbsup: that's a terrific picture as well. Great trade there my friend:cool:

Ron, I have the same knife and really like it. Lotsa blade in a slim package:thumbsup:

Wire stripper built into the tang? It looks like a very usable, no frills work knife. Interesting pattern. Too bad you can't carry it, it would be handy for you in your job, I expect.

Yesterday I complained about falling behind over 48 hours. Now I feel almost as far behind after 24 hours!

I just found my grandfathers Magnum 22 so I think I may have to carry it today.

Seems like there could be a fascinating story behind this post!?! ;)

Those are two beautiful knives, i've bin thinking about buying a Case sodbuster with those bone handle scales but im just not sure about it could i hear your opinion about the knife? but never the less i think a sodbuster in general is a really good looking knife.
Love those chestnut Sod Buster jr.s - great jigged bone, CV steel blade, perfect size! Everybody that likes pocketknives should have one!

I agree with what Wayne said.:thumbsup: I'll add that my preference is for knives with 2 or more blades, but after getting my Case SBJr, I've been a lot more open to using single-bladed knives, and I have several sodbusters of various brands.

I've got these two with me this morning. I love this #92, but I'm unenthusiastic about the Goldenrod jigged bone covers.

Pretty pair, Barrett!:thumbsup: What's your beef with the 92's covers??

Thanks 5K Qs, It is a joy to carry ! So i got called in to work this morning and paired it up with a Primble India Steel works, I didn't get a lot of work done.

Splendid bone on both Barlows, Rob; that rich, dark color appeals to me a lot!:cool::cool::thumbsup: I have a Blue Grass Barlow I love dearly, but it's delrin instead of bone.

Thanks, GT! Inspired by my son's first day of t-ball!
:D:thumbsup::thumbsup::D Here's a recent ball glove-related photo of mine:

Thanks for the compliments GT, hope you've had a great weekend :)
Thanks, Jack. :) I suppose that my weekend was "productive", but I probably wouldn't call it "great"! ;)

That round shield on a Barlow is rather unusual, but I like it - weird but wonderful!!;)

Have a good week everyone

Bonny brace of folders, Jack!!:thumbsup::cool:

Best wishes to those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma and to those still touched by the memories of 9/11.
Case pattern 009R and a C+K Lockwood Brothers barehead jack will get me through the day.

I second the sentiment Stuart expressed in what I bolded above!:thumbsup:
Stuart, you sure have some nice (and uncommon in the case of the Lockwood) knives!!:cool::thumbsup:

This one has hijacked my knife collection. Its pretty much all I carry since I got it about two months ago. My fancy modern knives are getting dusty. My rotation no longer exists. Not sure why I find this one so pleasing to carry and use...

Congrats, mbkryan!! I enjoyed reading your little "love story"!:thumbsup:;) I think many of us are constantly looking for a knife that affects us the way yours does you! :D:cool:

Case-MT-Closed-2.jpg

Got this last week, so it'll be carried for a while, I think.
My bad, I thought this thread was "what traditional knife are you droppin' today"...

Barely owned this 72 hours and it slipped out of my hand onto the pavement! No real harm done, just a couple minor dings on the end. Still, gimme a week at least! :)
That's a GREAT-looking amber bone mini trapper, Matt!!:cool::thumbsup: Glad it survived the fall!:thumbsup: I like bone handles and have many more knives with bone than any other covers, but I do worry about accidents and cracked bone! :(

Ahhh, old redbone Case and an old winterbottom bone Queen - your post made me go looking for these two oldies. Both have much sentimental value to me. Thanks!

What an impressive, aged pair, Wayne!:cool::thumbsup:

Gorgeous TC Jack

I rarely carry two folders but I am today. No functional reason, just liked the color contrast :).

Went with a Classic duo for the week.

Very cool colors, Tom & H&S!!:cool::thumbsup: Do you know this Hitchcock movie?

A prairie walk with our brown Australian Shepherd Mocha. She's a runner so we slowly train up on the prairie without the leash:thumbsup:

Carried a favorite yellow Day's Work on a GORGEOUS fall like day:cool:

Great pics, Paul! Mocha looks mischievous, and the yellow TC is radiant!:thumbsup::cool: Glad you could enjoy the weather. Beautiful day here, too. I had to visit a school about 1.5 miles from my campus, and walked both ways.:) (Walked another 2.5 miles total at the end of bus rides on my way to and from work.)

Nice pics Paul. Mocha looks like she has a lot of energy. That yellow Days Work is beautiful. This is how I found Woody yesterday. He doesn't look comfortable, but he's out cold in this pic. Lol

I had an early mail call. Received this one in a trade.

I LOVE that pic of Woody, Bob, especially since he and I must be related. I slept on the living room floor yesterday afternoon in exactly that pose, with a little pillow from the couch! :D:oops: I can't figure out what kind of whittler you just picked up, but it sure is attractive!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Great knives, Vaporstang!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool:

Used this a bit today. There's actually nothing wrong with the point, just my photography.
...
Of course I still had my Kutmaster Tungsten.
ICON, Jer!!:cool: I have a perfectly fine Buck 371, but a classic black Valox Buck 301 is still on my "bucket list".

Curses! No space left to show some of my carries for the week. Another post will soon follow, but I'd better take the dogs out first.

Thanks GT, appreciate it. It survived the fall, no big deal! It goes in my pocket with my keys, so the dings will get smoothed out soon enough!

Some of my knives for this week.
Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is a Frost Flying Falcon, usually found on my desk at work:

Watch Pocket Knife of the Week is a Case XX half-congress (thanks, leghog), also usually on my work desk:

Very nice rotation indeed!

Thanks for the compliment Gary. The whittler is a Tidioute #57 Ghepetto Whittler. It's a split spring wharncliffe main with coping and clip point secondaries.
