Looking good! It takes just the right light to make those snakeskin handles glow like that!
What is that handle material? It is quite striking.
Thanks for the comment on my RR trapper, Stuart. I like looking at trappers, but for some reason I don't enjoy carrying/using them.5K Qs I like that Rough Rider trapper, GT. A strapping, good looking knife. It will probably do most of what the Case folding hunter I posted (65 SAB) can do, though not as beefy (or heavy). Thanks for the compliment on the Case pair. The one on the top is a Pattern 30 from 1920-1940, the one below is a younger Pattern 47 from 1978.

Thanks for the confirmation, Steve. Thanks ! Yes, it was a Colonial brand
Thanks. I don't remember exactly what meals I used it for, but I know it didn't take much time to get that patina. (And, as usual with a new carbon steel knife, I "cheated" a little by dipping it in the juice of a jar of hot pepper rings to induce a more uniform "base coat".)You're getting a nice patina on that Squirrel.![]()
Thanks, Shawn....
GT, your "Variations of Cool" had me cracking up wondering what you would come up with next!
The ever-present Peanut is hanging with his English buddy today.

I'm always a sucker for black/orange knife combos, and I enjoy the ones you've often posted involving your orange Alox, Tom.
That is a fascinating Vic variation, HST!!I love this configuration and covers. The Phillips looks like a machine gun on the side of the fuselage.

Those Case Whalers sure are appealing knives, xceptnl!!Early 70s Case XX Whaler 11031 SH
The pull is like a 12, but I love it.
Congrats on another of those tree-bolstered Barlows, Steve!!Another Boker followed me home the other day.

Superb TC, Dean!
Glad you got a break from the heat, Dschal, although I doubt if the weather will ever get as cool as your knife!Shadows are getting longer. Finally felt like fall today!

Whoa, that swayback ebony Ulster is the cat's meow, tomsch!!Ebony Ulster today. Still could use a little clean-up and fix the main blade wobble but it still has a nice snap.

Superlative handles on your Robeson, rockman!Robeson today.

Both Robeson Electricians are superb, Harry, and I suppose there's more blade-life in the other one, but I think I prefer this one with the bail!!
I also used a Vic Alox money clip in a novel-for-me way:
