Cool pic Donn, good to have you back

I'm glad it's Friday! :) Carrying these two today

Cheers Jack it's good to be back. Banjaxxed internet for the past month and a bit. Means I've missed a lot, including that beauty of a lambsfoot which if I'm understanding the Guardians thread is a special edition

Today with two new Portuguese handmade knives, this time from the craftsman Eliseu de Palaçoulo - Miranda do Douro.

That's rotten Donn, feel free to PM me :) Nice pic, hope you didn't have to clip too many 10-year olds to get hold of that bounty! :D My street is littered with conkers at the moment, but I never see anyone under 35 picking them up! :D

:) There for nieces and nephews Jack though the two eldest have now found smartphones and Xboxes, the younger two appreciated a game of conkers last year  They live way up on the Northumbrian fells and I think the nearest tree is about 3 miles away :(

GT, thanks for the compliments on the Battle Axe. I don't know that I can carry off the fanny pack, but I have ordered a multi-pocket plaid wool vest for the coming fall and winter. Oh, the carry opportunities (in addition to my pockety pants).
- Stuart
That sounds like a useful purchase, Stuart. Didn't Herbert Hoover promise a chicken in every pot and a jackknife in every pocket?!? ;):cool:

Both are really cool, GT, but that worm groove is ultra cool.
- Stuart
Thanks, Stuart, although we both know the "worm groove" is really just a thin veneer of Colonial plastic. ;)

...
Thanks, Gary. I think "sacroiliac sack" is my favorite. :D:thumbsup:

This A Wright Sheepfoot made it's maiden pocket voyage today.

Congrats on the Wright sheepsfoot, FBC!:thumbsup::cool: The reddish bone has "got the fire down below"!!:cool:;)

Thank you my friend, I experience that same feeling many, many times a day! :D A splendid pair :)

I'm carrying these two today :)

Thanks, Jack. :) Your ebony lambsfoot is a charmer, and the red spear/pen boys knife is a classic!:cool::thumbsup:

I love how red this knife becomes in the sunlight. My dog can smell a fox who has moved in to our park.

I'm admiring another photo in your "two-dog knife" series, Travman!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Old Keen Kutter model 829 barlow today...

The sawcut bone on your KK Barlow is very satisfying, Wayne!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

When I got home yesterday this was waiting for me. In the pocket today!

Congrats on the Churchill arrival, Dschal!!:cool::cool:

In addition to the North Carolina-related Battle Axe whittler that I posted yesterday, I have collected the following for my sojourn to the Old North State to attend my high school reunion this weekend: Case Mini Trapper (3.5" closed, 1940-1964), Vic Cadet (3.5" closed, 1986-2008), and a Parker Frost UNC Tarheels commemorative lockback ( 3 1/8" closed, early 1970's). The latter knife is left over from a batch that my stepfather commissioned from Parker Frost while I was away at law school, so I don't know the exact dates. He had batches made for UNC, N.C. State, Wake Forest, and Duke and planned to sell them via alumni groups and at football games. I told him that the latter idea, handing out knives at ACC football games, was fraught with danger and legal liability. He, reluctantly, agreed and pursued the former approach.

Top-shelf mini trapper and VERY capable Vic Recruit (I think), Stuart!:cool::thumbsup: Your advice about those little lockbacks seems the better part of valor to me!;)

Thanks, Gary! I love those Alox Soldiers; and you have a good one.

I had this Tip Top Barlow on the trail today. I took this photo just before the downpour (of rain) started, which changed the whole nature of the hike.
Thanks for the Soldier praise, Dean. That's a tidy old Tip-Top you've shared!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks. There's just something about scouts. So much history associated with them. So many promises of adventure in the old Boy's Life magaziness. The scout is the one style of knife that never fails to make me feel like a kid again. There are prettier patterns out there. Probably even more useful patterns. It's not like can openers get used much these days, and leather punches are hardly an oft used tool for most. But what a scout does do well, speaks to where I'd prefer to be in life; hiking and fishing, building campfires and lean-tos, and eating baked beans out of can while I sit on a log under the stars. Opening a knife like the MD-USN is akin to opening a box full of possibilities. These knives transport me to a far better place.
Wow, that's quite poetic, Buzz!!:thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I have a long weekend @ Petit LeMans. The obvious choice for me is my favorite scout knife these days - SAK Tinker. The Phillips head makes it my ‘easily pocketable compete package.’ The Euro Barlow to make my exotic car pals ohh and ahhh.

Hopefully, I can get some get some good pics of knives with race cars as a background.
Cool photo of a couple of attention-grabbing knives, HST; have a safe and splendid weekend!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

My pockets are full today! These possess two of my fast favorites when it comes to cover materials; Ebony and a variation of Red Bone.

IMHO, that's one of the best looking knives out there, Paul!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

High praise coming from the resident aficionado himself :D:thumbsup: You know ...it's all your fault ;):) It's my first nice scout and I see where your passion come from ! I wanted a Remington with great bone, snappy and full everything, and this one fills the bill without breaking the bank.
That nostalgia-inducing scout is outstanding, Gev! Congrats!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Carried these to the Y with us today .

I'm glad it's Friday! :) Carrying these two today

Fantastic Friday folders, Jack!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

SAK of the Week for me has been the humble Vic Pocket Pal. I suppose it's technically not even a Swiss Army Knife, but it's (ETA: it WAS) a very desirable Victorinox product:

Stockman of the Week is a Buck Cadet 303 (thanks, Clay):

The BF TC Barlow is almost always in the pocket these days. But a couple times this week I thought it would be nice to take a Stallion with me...Cocobolo on Wednesday, and ol' Spring Green today. This one is just so nice the way it operates. Smooth walk, crisp talk. :)
