Cheers Jack it's good to be back. Banjaxxed internet for the past month and a bit. Means I've missed a lot, including that beauty of a lambsfoot which if I'm understanding the Guardians thread is a special edition
I do like your knives PT; your posts are always a treat

That's rotten Donn, feel free to PM meNice pic, hope you didn't have to clip too many 10-year olds to get hold of that bounty!
My street is littered with conkers at the moment, but I never see anyone under 35 picking them up!

What a feast for the eyes !!
That sounds like a useful purchase, Stuart. Didn't Herbert Hoover promise a chicken in every pot and a jackknife in every pocket?!?GT, thanks for the compliments on the Battle Axe. I don't know that I can carry off the fanny pack, but I have ordered a multi-pocket plaid wool vest for the coming fall and winter. Oh, the carry opportunities (in addition to my pockety pants).
- Stuart
Thanks, Stuart, although we both know the "worm groove" is really just a thin veneer of Colonial plastic. Both are really cool, GT, but that worm groove is ultra cool.

Congrats on the Wright sheepsfoot, FBC!...
Thanks, Gary. I think "sacroiliac sack" is my favorite.
This A Wright Sheepfoot made it's maiden pocket voyage today.

Thanks, Jack.
I'm admiring another photo in your "two-dog knife" series, Travman!I love how red this knife becomes in the sunlight. My dog can smell a fox who has moved in to our park.

Top-shelf mini trapper and VERY capable Vic Recruit (I think), Stuart! In addition to the North Carolina-related Battle Axe whittler that I posted yesterday, I have collected the following for my sojourn to the Old North State to attend my high school reunion this weekend: Case Mini Trapper (3.5" closed, 1940-1964), Vic Cadet (3.5" closed, 1986-2008), and a Parker Frost UNC Tarheels commemorative lockback ( 3 1/8" closed, early 1970's). The latter knife is left over from a batch that my stepfather commissioned from Parker Frost while I was away at law school, so I don't know the exact dates. He had batches made for UNC, N.C. State, Wake Forest, and Duke and planned to sell them via alumni groups and at football games. I told him that the latter idea, handing out knives at ACC football games, was fraught with danger and legal liability. He, reluctantly, agreed and pursued the former approach.

Thanks for the Soldier praise, Dean.
Wow, that's quite poetic, Buzz!!Thanks. There's just something about scouts. So much history associated with them. So many promises of adventure in the old Boy's Life magaziness. The scout is the one style of knife that never fails to make me feel like a kid again. There are prettier patterns out there. Probably even more useful patterns. It's not like can openers get used much these days, and leather punches are hardly an oft used tool for most. But what a scout does do well, speaks to where I'd prefer to be in life; hiking and fishing, building campfires and lean-tos, and eating baked beans out of can while I sit on a log under the stars. Opening a knife like the MD-USN is akin to opening a box full of possibilities. These knives transport me to a far better place.
Cool photo of a couple of attention-grabbing knives, HST; have a safe and splendid weekend!...
I have a long weekend @ Petit LeMans. The obvious choice for me is my favorite scout knife these days - SAK Tinker. The Phillips head makes it my ‘easily pocketable compete package.’ The Euro Barlow to make my exotic car pals ohh and ahhh.
