When ya got time sir, when ya got time. good luck with that project.

Disaster mitigated :D I apologize for my previous hasty reply sir ..it sounded terse and that was not my intention. I did not want to keep you waiting and time was of the essence.
Anyhoo...here it is from both sides.

Note: I see it's wrong now ! And I see what I did wrong. Making mistakes is how you learn :D

Thanks, GT! I'm a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, so don't have a dog in the fight this postseason. We go to a handful of Diamondbacks' games each season, but I don't generally care whether they win or lose. :D I did look at tickets for the Division Series, but I wasn't keen on the idea of paying more to sit in the nosebleeds than I've previously paid to sit close enough I could spit sunflower seed shells onto field.

Oops! Sorry I jumped to an erroneous conclusion, Barrett. Thanks for correcting me so pleasantly! ;):D

Remington and Leather
( I could not find Horsewright Horsewright 's FOB tutorial ...oh well.. I'll keep trying )

It's an old term for a watch chain/ribbon that sticks out of your pocket to help retrieve your watch. In this case I mean lanyard for my knife. I seem to remember you posting a tutorial on how to make an interlacing leather lanyard you put on some of your knives. Thanks in advance Dave ! I remember it being in a thread that did not refer to it specifically.
Ah yes Gevonovich a fob. Geez Dave. I was thinking FOB was some acronym I didn't know! I believe this was the post ya were looking for:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/lets-make-a-folding-knife-sheath-by-special-request.1492847/

That's called a blood knot. Always remember to work down, (top strand through bottom strand then new top strand through bottom strand). If I can be of more help don't hesitate to get ahold of me.
That's the one !! Thanks so much Dave !! I book marked the thread and someday will try that sheath too. :) Thanks again, your too kind:thumbsup:
Gev, that Remington scout is ravishing, and the searching for Horsewright's post to make the blood knot was worth the effort!:thumbsup::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: (Thanks for the link, Dave!:cool:) FWIW, I had unsuccessfully searched for Dave's post, but came up with Gary Graley's instructions for the same kind of lanyard/fob: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/braiding-a-leather-fob-and-installing-a-bead.681465/

5K Qs 5K Qs Gary, I like those old Buck Stockman 303's. Nice choice Buddy.
Thanks, Bob. :)

Quite an impressive array of tools you've deployed on your project, Harry!:thumbsup::thumbsup: What are you designing, anyway?? Does it have a handle that uses a brass knob from a horse collar? (When I was a kid on a dairy farm, we used to sometimes screw those to the end of the horns of some of the most belligerent cows, before we started routinely dehorning all of our livestock.)

After chatting Buffalo a bit with Jack Black a few days ago, I have been thinking about my Tidioute #53.

Sorry Dave ! Two problems . The camera battery is charging and my brothers shower is leaking into his kitchen downstairs. Were working on it. Just came home for some tools
Hope the plumbing problem was solved without too much frustration, Gev. ;)

Knives on kitchen duty this week included a couple of small, relatively new Case knives, pen and mini trapper:

5K Qs 5K Qs GT : To answer your question , what I am making is a cane with a handle that was the Brass Ball on the tip of a Harness Hames . I do not need a cane yet . I just liked one that I saw during our cruise up the Rhine last May . I hope that I can do as good a job on mine as the guy did on his . The big job now is using the draw knife to turn a 1 & 3/4 inch square of oak into a 1 inch diameter .

The 33 had a bail. It was one of the first knives I bought off the exchange. I was so glad to get it. The original owner told me he had removed it. It's a good thing I grabbed it because I don't recall seeing another in the last couple of years. It seems as if GEC is concentrating on it's larger patterrns.
