What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

No worries, GT! (After that performance in the NLDS, I'm perfectly happy not to be a Diamondbacks fan right now.)

How are you liking that Yeller CV Pen Knife?
...
To use what could very well be a quote from GT's book of alliterative knife compliments: Holy Hair-raising Horn! :D
...
That's quite a fleet of Canoes you've got there, GT!

The Burlap Micarta #25 has been with me for the last couple days.

e3OcVd1.jpg
That burly burlap micarta makes even a WLST look ultra-manly, Barrett! ;):thumbsup:
I like the Case pen knife a lot. I'm developing quite a strong preference for knives with pen configurations over those with jack configurations; I still like a Case Peanut, but I like the pen knife even more.
Thanks for noticing my canoes. :)
GT's Book of Alliterative Comments on Knives (or GT-BACK) will be available at Amazon any day now!:p

Cool photo of your Black Box teardrop/dogleg/bullet/candletip, FBC!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

...
Thanks Gary!
Chores or Fun? :D
My knives assigned kitchen duty carry out tasks that MUST be done, so in that sense the tasks are chores. But using different traditional folders each week to do those required tasks is much more enjoyable now than it was from 1973-2014 when I used the same $2 stainless, serrated, plastic-handled steak knife as my go-to kitchen cutter. ;)

That's why I put the neon yellow dice on there.
Good, proactive thinking!! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

5K Qs 5K Qs GT, I like that red RR and really like the pair of beautiful Cases, but I am still reeling from that canoe regatta that you posted. Just wonderful!
- Stuart
Thanks for the comprehensive compliments, Stuart. :) I like that red RR stockman FAR more than I'd have predicted!:thumbsup: And I do fancy myself to be something of a canoesseur!

Fantastic fleet of Canoes GT, I had no idea you had so many! Thanks for the compliment my friend :)

Trousering these two today ;)

Thanks for the canoe comment, Jack. :) The majority of my canoes are Rough Riders, and hence differ only in handle material, so there's not as much variety in my "fleet" as its size might suggest. But I can't seem to stop buying them!:confused::rolleyes:
Your knives are rousing, as usual (even though I personally have not experienced the charm of pale smooth bone covers, as so many here have). I liked a recent comparison you made between your Guardian Lambsfoot covers and grinder sparks.:thumbsup: When playing with my canoes last weekend, I noticed that the covers of my "painted desert" acrylic Rough Rider canoe are somewhat similar in appearance to your Lambsfoot horn handles:

Old Wostenholm I*XL barlow today...

Yet another noble and notable old Barlow, Wayne!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

My Lambsfoot strikes again, but I thought I'd picture it with a couple of Ebony clad knives....just because.

What a powerful triumvirate, sir!!!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks GT! Cocobolo wood. Luv them Canoes!
Thanks for the handle ID for your 73, Tom, and for the canoe props!:)

Even with my new cargo work pants, I can only carry two of these today. Left to right: Continental Cutlery Co.; Ulster Knife Co. NY; Hammer; Hammer Brand; Hammer Brand, New York Knife Co., Walden; U V B, Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co.

...
It will be the Hammers for knife talk with my buddies and slicing some apples (and a Vic Recruit for other cutting duties).
- Stuart
Quality quintet, Stuart!!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: Would those be referred to as coke bottle patterns? How long are they?

Wild turkey today
That's a fascinating (and new-to-me) knife, confucious! :cool::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

...
Someone asked about the pile side on the A Wright Sheepfoot . I apologize for the super late reply and forgetting who asked.... but better late than never, I guess.

Your "sheepfalo" knife is amazing, FBC!!:cool::thumbsup:

I recently won the auction for this Schrade Old Timer 34OT made between 1973 and 2004. This knife was NOS and had never had the burr knocked off from the factory so I hit it a few times with a fine Arkansas stone and stropped it and man this thing got sharp. Best $11 knife I've ever bought. :D

Congrats on the classic Old Timer medium stockman, Randy!!:thumbsup::cool:

GT if you have all those bad boys in your pocket I don't think the suspenders , cargo pants or fanny pack are going to help.:eek::D:D

On a serious note that is a fantastic collection of Canoes totally enjoyed you posting them I spent several minutes checking them out.:thumbsup::cool::cool:
The Colt you gifted me is great and allowed me to really get an appreciation for the pattern so thanks again my friend.
:D You're right about trying to get all those canoes in my pockets, Randy! :D But I store them all in a 1"x9"x14" Plano "tackle box", and I can easily slip that entire box into my backpack and let my broad shoulders bear the weight of my armada.;) Glad you're enjoying the Colt canoe, and thanks for the kind words! :)

...
I decided to carry my Tidioute 82 Osage Orange Dixie Stock Knife today. :D

I always remember your stunning OO 73, Ron, but I never remember that you have this OO Dixie stockman that I may actually enjoy even more than the 73!!:thumbsup::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you, Gary, for your comments. :)

I am blown away by your Canoe Collection! Lots of variety and beauty!:thumbsup:

Today, I'm carrying my Calf Roper Slim.

Thanks for the words of appreciation, Dean. :) I'd like to eventually pick up some canoes by other manufacturers, and especially some single-spring models. Your Calf Roper Slim is aging gracefully!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Swell Centre Pen.

Will, your Black Box Winchester holdings are enviable!!:thumbsup::cool:

5K Qs 5K Qs GT-BACK was sly, but "canoesseur" was brilliant! Yes, those are large coke bottle folding hunters between 5.25" and 5.5" closed lengths (hence the cargo pockets).
- Stuart

Great buy! I've got both sizes of the Fish Owl myself. I prefer the smaller one, but the larger one finds its way into my pocket once in a while. 4" closed is usually too large for my preference, but the Fish Owl is light enough as to not matter. I would have preferred VG-10 (Moki/G.Sakai uses it a lot), but I'm OK with AUS-8.

I wish they made a 3 5/8" version. That'd be perfect for me.

That is sweet! The Pioneer Rancher is one of my favorite knives. You get the pruning blade, main blade, caplifter/screwdriver, and the far superior awl. I've been wanting a Pioneer Pruner, but they're not easy to find (not for cheap anyway).
The Pruner is easier to find in the UK.

Got a Boker USA camp knife in my pocket today. I don’t know much about it. If any Boker aficionados have an idea of when it was made, I’d love to hear your guesses. Looks to be stainless steel blades and bone covers, with a carbon steel bail.

AtHULo2h.jpg
According to a tang stamp chart I have a copy of, the block print "BOKER USA" would be 1945-1983, but the more I read about Boker history the more confused I get, so I wouldn't swear to it. Probably pre-1984, anyway.

Oh, and very nice knife! :)

Nice Utica Steve. I really like those scales and angled bolsters.

The recent Boker Barlows posted reminded me it was time to carry mine. Jigged bone and no numbering, I haven't been able to find out much about it. (Any info will be appreciated.)

I carried the big English jack tonight to go out to dinner with my wife.

Boker Tree Brand Barlows and English Jacks - I have a sweet spot for the both of them. Very nice!

Cracking knives today everyone.
Yesterday and today. A old Richards camp knife.

Looking back, I seem to have missed a few great pics out of my multi-quote yesterday, including a couple of yours Donn. Great to see a Richards Scout Knife in the field too

First little touch up of the Lambsfoot today...

That's interesting GT, the Painted Desert Rough Riders are a series I've overlooked  Here's a painted dessert for you my friend ;) :D

Classy Jeff

Off on a road-trip today:)

Only a short one, so a short knife seems appropriate
