Thanks Jack!I really like it too! I didn’t realize how beautiful the grain in the Horn actually was. I took this picture in natural window light this morning and I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the photos!
They are a treasure my friend!

Love that 57!!!!!
Now that is right up my alley, and what a beautiful picture.
I know which knife will be in my pocket tomorrow.
Today it's still the Outlaw which is in my pocket. Here's a picture when it was brand new and still shiny:

Great story and unique knife pic, Scruff!!Just been for a x-ray of my jaw, I have suspected wisdom teeth issues.
Unbeknownst to me I dropped my recently gifted A.Wright & Son Ltd. Lambsfoot on the waiting room chair!
Some very kind gentleman had noticed it though. He waited for my x-ray to finish, so he could return it to me.
I tried to thank him with a small token of my appreciation, but he refused saying "It was a pleasure to find (and return) it". He had admired it during his short wait.
Thanks for putting a smile on my face sir!

Thanks, donn; if I can successfully modify an Opinel, including fixing my mistakes, ANYONE can!!Cheers 5K. I do like what you and others do with Opinels. I keep meaning to pick up a couple and experiment.
Old Tom is brewed by Robinsons Brewery; a nice ale though they've watered it down over the years. It wasn't so much hair of the cat more like spooling myself up for a trawl around the pubs of Derby

You've got me seeing red, Harry, and it's enchanting!!
What a fine tribute to your dad on a sad but special day, Barrett! Thanks for sharing the story here!I have a sort of special knife with me today. This Royal Ambassador's Colonial scout knife is likely the first knife I ever owned. It was given to me by my dad when I was 6 or 7 years old.

Although I don't carry this knife very often, I'm carrying it today is because it's been exactly 10 years since my dad died in a motorcycle accident, so I figured it would be nice to have something in my pocket that reminded me of him.
Here is one of my favorite pictures of my dad:

This Polaroid is another favorite. I have it in a little frame hanging above the workbench where I sharpen my knives.

Thanks, GT, Pearl and I are having a pleasant weekend.PEARL is looking purty (and a little nutty), r8shell!!
In the kitchen this week, I've used this large Rough Rider liner lock "work knife", but I've also used a couple of Cases that I've been using in the kitchen for the past couple of months trying to build some patina.

Thanks GT! I don't use the spatula a lot, but occasionaly it comes in quite handy. E.g. for pulling a loop through a tight slit on the car seat of my daughter or pushing a bit of stray fabric back behind the door panel of my old carExemplary stag on your doctor's knife, Mark!!What uses have you found for the spatula blade?
