Back to the 'nut.
Long live the 'nut!

Keith,is that an original winterbottom Queen?
Or have they came back with that again?
I have always loved the older Queens scales.

The originals didnt have the cap peened bolsters...that appears to be the new come back, winterbottom is back. ;)

Well, it is an origional Queen :D It's a new release and IMO worthy of it's namesake.

Good call! A few more patterns in winterbottom would hit the spot.

Ok Jeff, I have to put myself out there and ask the question, have you two of the same knives?, as I just cannot see the join of the photo - especially with the circular pattern of the matting underneath..?

No Duncan, that one just came out really well. I took the mark side picture first, then, trying not to move the camera at all, I just flipped the knife over to the pile side and reshot. I then used the Windows paint program to cut and paste, and the two sides mated almost perfectly.

There was a heavy storm and I had a couple of carpenter´s work to do on my house´s roof. Soddie inclusive ;)

Kind regards

Still carrying the new Utica in 1095. I flushed the joints with WD40, then put some actual oil on it. Loosened up like a champ and has good action now. The edges sharpened up with not near as much work as I had to put into my Queen City 1095 carbon edges. I like the configuration of the Sheepsfoot when in the closed position. It doesn't stick way up as the Queen or Schrade ones do. It's about the same as a Buck 301 in that regard. I'd rate the build quality about the same as that of my Schrade 80T Old Timer. And it's PURDY.

One thing (the only thing?) nice about freezing cold weather is that it's easy to carry a large folder in the pocket of a winter coat.
