What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Today I carried my Opinel 06 in Inox. It never ceases to amaze me how sharp those super thin blades can get.

I like that Ankermesser. I've got the AGR 3.0 lockback today.

I have the smaller 2.5 version stashed in my wallet. I think I need the 3.0 version too. The fit and finish on these are amazing. I wish the 2.5 had a lanyard hole in it.

Still carrying my 73 :) It is a great knife and the stag just melts in my hand. I couldn't ask for more.

I've been on the move for 5 days, and this one stays in my travel kit. Flying isn't good for knife choices!

Carrying a brand new Case Texas jack in olive bone today. Bone is really dark on this specimen. It came shaving sharp out of the box. I like it when that happens.

Nice one, Ed. I like the color of the olive bone on it.

I sharpened up my '10 forum knife and dropped it in my pocket tonight. It was a nailbreaker when I first got it, but is now broken in nicely to where it's just right. I think I'll carry it for a few days.

That reminds me! I need to call queen about mine...I had to send it in because of blade play after 2 weeks use. :(

Today, I was totin' a "Winchester" (Queen) sowbelly, yeller Buck 303 and yeller RR whittler... I thought I just had the sowbelly but found the others in my pockets later...

I've been rotating these few old ones that I have... there's just something special and satisfying about having one of these "oldies but goodies" with all their history in your pocket. All but the Hobo style were given to me from family over the years (the Sabre 803 belonged to my Father in law who was a state trooper. He used to use it to cut clothes off of cadavers at the morgue and also used it to peel and eat apples (at least that's the story he would tell you after sharing an apple with you:D)

I don't know much about them other than what's marked on the blades.

Top row, L-R -- Imperial Prov. RI, a Sabre 803, AMCO USA, Autopoint Chicago USA (Cha????? Valley Fruit Co.)
Second row, L-R -- Ideal Camper, Imperial Ireland
Bottom is a "hobo style" by Stainless Colonial Prov. USA

There's something special about the colors in the scales on the Imperial Prov. RI... picture doesn't show it too well but its really beautiful.

Got my early Christmas present today and had some bread and cheese for dinner with a good beer.

And whoever doesn't know this green stuff (schabziger), has to try it. It's delicious :)
