What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Great knives everyone!
Strictly speaking yesterdays but not picked up a knife today

Great pic Donn, hope you're keeping warm my friend

Nice #25 and pocket compass Tim

Yikes! Michigan tourism sometimes touts the state as a "Winter Wonderland", but we haven't hit single digit (F) temps this season yet! Jack, your toasty stag and white-hot unicorn should definitely drive away some of the chill!:thumbsup:;)

+5K :thumbsup:. I don't know much about Bucks, other than the 300 series.

Dirk, that brass Mercator is very stylish!!:cool::cool:
I'm unfamiliar with Altenbach; how old is the knife you posted? The handles have a real 1960s retro look!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

What more can you ask of a knife, John??:thumbsup: (Maybe that it looks good, and your stockman meets that criterion, too.)

Terrific trio, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool: If we're voting, my favorite is the Ulster in the middle!:cool::thumbsup:;)

Alox of the Week for me is a 1986 Soldier (thanks, Ken):

Non-Alox SAK of the Week is a Huntsman:

Bailed non-Vic for this week is a Colonial scout (although the JJ Martinez marinera I posted yesterday would work here too):

Thanks a lot GT, that's a smart-looking Soldier

Today I am carrying pretty much what is typical of what I have been carrying quite frequently for a little while now... The Churchill paired with a Lambsfoot variant.

Excellent pic of a very useful pairing Dylan, I never tire of seeing that golden horn :)

Cool photo Barrett :)

I'm carrying my Unicorn Ivory #25 again today, paired with my Guardians Lambsfoot :)

This Union Cutlery hobo is a boon for those who choose to use their slip joints for culinary purposes (I like the long clip main and the dog head shield). The clip blade is 4 3/8" long with a tight swedge at the end in the nail mark that then widens and narrows toward the tip. I couldn't get a decent picture of it (you will note that the camera angle distorts the perspective in the final picture. Tang is stamped Union Cut. Co. Olean N.Y. U.S.A. on clip and PAT. NOV. 5 th 1907 on the fork. This Union Cutlery was in business 1911-1951.

Of course I dropped it in the snow right before I took the picture...new 78.

To me, this is exactly what being an enthusiast for Traditionals is all about: beautiful bone, excellent jigging and a clever composition that really sets it all off. More and more I begin to enthuse about the Tidioute line, simple and very high quality finish, nothing out of place. Somebody may well admire that knife in a hundred years, let's hope so anyway.....

Regards, Will

In (belated) honor of Wooden Wednesday, I am putting the Hammer Brand Coke bottle hunter that is pictured second from the right in my heavy coat pocket when I brave the blustery cold today. The Union Hobo will be in the other pocket and a trusty SAK Recruit in my fleece-lined jeans pocket.

A pocket full of Barlows today, including a "peanut size" Shapleigh "Diamond Edge" (white celluloid handle), a John Primble/Belknap Hdwe & Mfg Co. (saw-cut bone), and a Ulster Knife USA (saw-cut bone).

Well, you have blade types pretty well covered! I’d have trouble picking only one too.

D Duckdog Wow. That’s an eclectic group of knives. Really like the blade grinds and the eclectic coke-bottle-handles.

The blades are really nice and probably inspired recent GEC runs for Northwoods. The Hawthorn Jack clip point looks very similar to the blade profile of the second to the right.

Cool photo Barrett :)

Thank you, Jack! I certainly have you to thank for such a beautiful knife. You are carrying a great duo today, the 25 and the Lambsfoot are a match made in heaven.

Wooden Wednesday dictates I must have wood clad knives in my pockets today. Should be no trouble...
