Thanks for the very kind words about my 2 old TEWs my friend . I really like to carry them too . They are just 2 of the finest Old Knives that I have ever handled . I think that they are at least on par with the Old Cattaraugus knives that I have handled . They are really great work knives and take a great edge .
Your Guardian's covers look pretty deep and nice . How are you liking it by now ??

Harry
Harry, it's good to hear you extolling the virtues of your TEW bone knives!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I carry my Guardians Lambsfoot proudly every day and CF &CE it frequently throughout my waking hours :thumbsup::D, but I have to admit that I haven't cut anything with it yet!:rolleyes:

Had this one with me today when going to the YMCA and coffee with our friends .

Harry
Wonderful stag, Harry, and the painted bolster is awesome!
I agree with Jeff 100%, Harry!:thumbsup::cool: I'm just working from my (probably faulty) memory of your stag, but I think the stag on that knife is my favorite stag of yours!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Never heard of it before, too and there a not a lot of informations on the internet about it. But I found out on AAPK , that they were not producing knifes by themselves, only engaged other companies to build knives for them. The company was (or still is) located in Forest City N.C. (btw.it seems, Burnt Chimney was the former name of Forest City) and run by Marshall Hardin who owned a pharmacy and sold knives. And they were obviously reliable enough to be appointed to build the annual youth knife for NKCA
Thanks for the fascinating background info, Dirk. :)

...
LOL! :D Thanks GT, that's nice that the Guardians Lambsfoot has been added to your EDC pantheon :) :)
...
Yeah, quite sure that it's joining my Vic Minichamp, my scrimshawed RR stockman from r8shell, and my CV chestnut jigged bone Case Sodbuster Jr from a BigBiscuit GAW as my literal EDC knives.:)

Thanks GT. Oh the stories I could tell! I guess it’s just a “first world problem,” and not a bad one at that.
:D:rolleyes:

Well it has been two years straight with this beauty. A few dents and a little less steel but she continues with me each day earning her keep. Boker 494 with an easy open mod.

Always a treat to see your EO Böker Barlow, jmarston, and I really admire your commitment to the knife!!!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool:

You have a keen eye, Gary ;) The chocolate..pay attention:D Wonderful photo of a treasure !!!
Thanks, Gev!! :) I wish I could predict/remember what light conditions allow me to take some of my best photos. That Guardians Lambsfoot sure was photogenic THAT morning! :D:thumbsup:

Morning folks

Peerless pair of knives, Jack!:thumbsup::thumbsup: You should have fixed your breakfast sooner, rather than gnawing on the handles of your red bone TC (TC = Too Chewed)!! :D:p

Beautiful Portuguese knife from "MAM", I hope you like it a lot, because although it is frictionally closed, it has liner lock!!!
Obrigado, Senhor Pinto! :)

Today with the Portuguese knife "FC-Francisco Cangueiro" with hands in bovine horn and with liner lock...

Marvelous handle on your knife!!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

TooSHAY.
Someday I'll figure out how to do diacritics.
I found out it's very easy on a Macbook: just hold down the key for the letter you want to "mark" and a little numbered menu appears from which you can choose what you need. For example, if I hold down the "e" key, I can select è é ê ë ē ė or ę. So, touché??:thumbsup:;)

Gorgeous #26, Travman!:cool::thumbsup: How stout are the blade pulls on that model?

I have some with the flat end cap bolsters and some with just the flat bare ends. I assume that the former are higher priced "medical specialists", like plastic surgeons.

:D:D

Today I'm carrying a couple of older folders and a recent find in a fixed blade. The folders are Henkle & Joyce Hardware Co. (Lincoln, NE, 1900-1932) eual end pen with a "Woodmen Accident" etch (?) on main, a ML Cutlery Co. 3 blade pen (I am still looking for info on this company), and a small game knife by Daniel L. Cannady, Allendale, South Carolina. The Cannady blade is 2 3/4", knife is 6" OAL. Mr. Cannady died on May 27, 2016.

Those two vintage bone knives are absolutely ravishing in every way, Stuart!!:eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: You must have been walking on air while you carried them!! :D:cool::cool:

...
I've minimized my carry some today. I was prepared to walk out the door with my usual gallimaufry of 4(ish) knives and the burden in my pockets all of the sudden became noticeably irksome. ...
Thanks for the totally new-to-me word, Dylan!!:cool::cool::thumbsup: (I don't do Twitter, but is "#gallimaufry" too self-referential?? ;))

GEC #12 Powderhorn Jack... what a great knife

Superb knife, Andi; impressive patina!!:cool::thumbsup: Is that a 2-blade model?

Always a treat to see the unique stag on your BF Stag Jack, mykel!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good looking pair, Jack! I don't know if I mentioned this before, but when we were visiting Bath, I looked for Henderson's in just about every grocery store or supermarket we went to, but couldn't find it anywhere.
...
Barrett, Bath might be too far from Yorkshire. Earlier this year, my wife and daughter visited the UK for about a week, and spent some time in Bath. But they also spent time in York, and my wife brought back 2 things I'd requested:

This week I carried my GEC Coyote and a USA Schrade 98OT Ramrod.

That Coyote is awesome, Ratbert!
Different strokes... When I saw your splendid photos, Ratbert, I said, "That 98OT is awesome!!:cool::thumbsup::D" That Turkish clip is so long and lean, and it looks like the joints are pretty much sunk; pure pleasure!! How big is that model? I have a 4" Chinese Schrade 61OT that looks quite similar.

Had these with me today . Sorry for the re-cycled pictures .

Satisfying pair, Harry!! :cool::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hope everyone has a great weekend :) I'm carrying these two today

Antler and horn win again, Jack!:thumbsup::cool:

I've taken to carrying a "free choice" knife each week, usually something that's too new to be on my usual rotation schedule (but sometimes just a knife I grab on a whim as I'm finding the knives dictated by my schedule). This week it's an AG Russell Mohawk canoe with VERY nice stag:

Thanks for the kind words about the Stag on the Henkells but I will have to disagree with you . I think it is pretty good too but , I think that I have 2 or 3 others that are just a little better .
I really like your A.G. Russell Mohawk my friend .
Harry

Stuart, that's a lovely little "tot" you have today!

1979 Frank Buster stockman for me today.

Jeff that is just outstanding Stag!

Carried these today : Northfield 35 & 55

Harry

Gary I really like your UK souvenirs! I’m familiar with the virtues of the Lambsfoot, but I would like to give that Henderson’s Relish a try. It’s made in Sheffield, it has to be good stuff!:D Your Mohawk Canoe has some beautiful toasty Stag. A great looking knife my friend!:D

Thank you for the kind words, Gary.

The Turkish Clip on the Ramrod is a very graceful blade. It’s not sunken, but the joint on that blade is darn close. It’s about 1/32” above the bolster and you can definitely catch your fingernail on it. The closed length is 3 1/2”. I would call it a Medium Stockman.

That is some great looking stag on your A.G. Russell Canoe!

Had these 2 with me today as I finally finished my Christmas shopping.

Lovely pairing Tom :) You sound more organised than I am this year, I still have cards to write!

LOL! :D  If you were only going to take two things back from Yorkshire, I don't think you could do better than that my friend! :D It's only very recently that Henderson's has got as far as York though! :D Your Mohawk is a beauty :)

I hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend :) Have a great Sunday folks  Exciting times in the Guardians thread (I'd put in a hyperlink there if I was more clued up), as Greg @Whittling Away has been busy building an index for the entire thread - https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/guardians-of-the-lambsfoot.1406735/page-172#post-17681582 :) :)

Today a modest one: my Klaas two-bladed gentlemans knife
dscf2461.jpg

Got it directly from the factory, when I visited Mr. Schiesen for a short shopping break on a business travel. It was a found by the owner in the endless shelfs of the factory building. It was produced in the 1970´s and forgotten. This happens from time to time, when they rifle through the shelfs of that old and somehow spooky building.

I just did a search, and it looks like I can order some Henderson's online! I'm putting it on my wish list, just to satisfy my curiosity about this legendary relish. :)

I hope it's not too expensive to get mail-ordered r8shell. They must have only started doing it only recently. The company are somewhat old-fashioned, and a bit clueless, until about 25 years ago, you still had to bash a hole in the bottle-top with a nail, and the labels were printed so badly, the ink ran off, just leaving them orange! :D Cool pic :)

It's not from them directly, but the 'river store' where you can apparently get anything.
Thanks, I took the picture back on Yorkshire Day, but it seemed appropriate.
