It well deserves some carry; it is a fine knife, regardless of the lovely sentiments (which also argue for carry). This week I carried my Colt serpentine Medium Stockman.
It was gifted to me by a co-worker a couple of years ago. It belonged to her husband and knowing my interest in pocket knives, she gave it to me after he passed. One of those little things that just touches you...it doesn’t make it into the carry rotation as often as it should, though.

Beguiling dye job on your Texas Jack, @Ace Rimmer !Out and about with this one for the first time today; even got a chance to slice an apple for lunch.
This is my latest project, a "refurbished" 2014 Case 62032CV small Texas jack. The strange coloring (which I like very much!) is due to an experiment with blue dye on jigged amber bone. The full story can be found here:

Reservoir
Lady Bird Lake is a river-like reservoir on the Colorado River in Austin, Texas, United States. The City of Austin created the reservoir in 1960 as a cooling pond for a new city power plant. The surface area of the lake is 416 acres, and it is currently used primarily for recreation and flood control…

Congrats on the entrancing ebony Churchill, @r8shell !!Lady Bird Lake? Never heard of it. That looks like Town Lake, to me! (yes. I am old and curmudgeonly)
Groovy Churchill you got there. My ChristmaHanuKwanzaKah present to myself came today, and it went right into my pocket. Well...not right in, first I had to coon finger and chicken eye it for a good long spell.I'll be carrying it tomorrow.

I'm old too and have always known it as Town Lake...lol. Or just Lake Austin. I guess I was reading too many signs along the trail and I used to wait on Lady Bird Johnson as a teenager in high school at a high end restaurant I worked at. She tipped well and always showed up with her entourage
Looking forward to all the pictures of your ebony gem !!!
Thanks, Ron....Happy belated birthday wishes my friend!![]()
Thanks, @Ace Rimmer! Sounds like you use your Esquire much more than I use mine!5K Qs Nice Esquire! Mine sits on the lamp table next to the couch in the living room where it is always handy. I don't recall where I got it or how long I've had it, but the "Swiss Cross" has completely worn off mine.
D Duckdog Thanks for the further ID info, Stuart.I agree, GT, and, yes, it is a mini trapper (6207) from 1965-1969. I carry it a good bit more than the big Barlow, but they do make a fun pair. ...
