What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The smooth bone 78s are stunners!

Absolutely!

Great even patina ???

I clean the blade with rubbing alcohol then dip it in heated vinegar until it’s nice and even and dark. Then clean and sharpen. I throw my knives right in the pocket to work when I get them and need good protection from the start.

After I patina them they just get better and better with use.

Thank you for the procedure ! It really sets off the smooth bone and edge :thumbsup:

Got bad news about the wife yesterday, so today all I'm carrying in my lounge pants is an Opinel #6.

Thanks Gentlemen She facing a 3rd Battle with Cancer this time in the bladder! We been walking in and out of this Valley since Dec 2015.

Very sorry to hear. I hope everything turns out for the best.

No worries! I read how to do it on this forum years ago from either Carl or Charlie, can’t remember who.

This one came in from @mshambone today. The last knife I will receive until 2018. What a nice knife to end the year with. Thanks Matt.

Great 81. I love those green ones. Never ran across one to buy though.

Been carrying my 72 LB and my Rod Braud for so long. Had to swap it up today. These two along. But I still can’t bring myself to get the patina going on the SFO heartland clip. So tomorrow, with cooking and such going on at work, it’ll be back to the 72 and Braud (since it’s such a better cooking knife than the rodent solution)
