What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It was both productive and frustrating, as such things often are. I can confidently put a toothy, working edge on a knife. I'm trying to learn the next step of polished, refined edges. Results are mixed.

Since I'm bumming around the house today, I'm sticking with my MJ fixed blade today, in the pocket in a homemade dangler sheath:

That's pretty nifty, r8shell. I have a couple of deep tool pockets on my work pants that carry my small fixed blades well, but the dangler would make retrieval much simpler. Thx.

Thank you, Duckdog. I'm kinda proud of it. I like the idea of totin' a small fixed blade, but until I did some experimenting, I hadn't found a comfortable, discrete way of carrying.

Unfortunately, this opens up a whole new category of knife to accumulate. :p I've got an EnZo Necker 70 on order, and I don't know if it'll fit, or I'll have to make another sheath for it.

Nice knives, SVTFreak, but what's the deal with the bikes??:confused::confused:;)

Haha. Well, since they got new ones for Christmas, and the old ones slept outside for years, where flooded in 2016, they where shot. So I cut em up to fit in the garbage can.

Happy new year to everyone!
Breaking in this new year with this little Douk Douk

Although I'm still not a huge fan of the banana shield, I do love when GEC does bright yellow smooth bone like that.

Paul, I'm still trying to mentally prepare myself for that kind of cold. I was driving back to Arizona from Arkansas the other day and stopped in Amarillo for gas. It was 19° with a wind chill of 8° while I was standing there waiting for the tank to fill up, and I thought, "I don't know that I'm ready for Minnesota!" :D

I'm just going to try and enjoy my last few weeks of Arizona "winter." Today it was 75°.

Happy New Year folks! :) Great to have you back Duane

Starting 2018 with these two

Excellent pair, Jack!

I carried my OD Green #71 Bull Nose today, but I forgot to get a picture, so you'll just have to use your imaginations until tomorrow. :D

I love my ebony Churchill, but it sure looks cheery in sunny yellow. :)
Great knives, and lovely scenery.

Oh, that's nice! This is the time of year when I start thinking about carrying a small, pocket-able fixed blade. I've got this little one on me today.

Yeah, sometimes you don't want to peel off a glove to dig out and open a folder.

That knife looks...
perfect ;)

Congrats, Dirk!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Love at first sight is a powerful experience! ;):cool:

....

Handsome stag Barlow, Dirk!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I try to carry some stag (or horn) EVERY day. :D:thumbsup:

Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is a GEC #85 with buffalo horn covers, EO notch, and modded pen blade (thanks, Paul):

There you see it: spontanous love doesn´t last. Only one day made me change my favourite :D But someday I will return to my Schrade.
It´s a wonderfull 85 that you carry, this would be one for me, too

These two with me today, Queen #2 Serpentine Jack in Winterbottom bone (1961-1971) and Queen #61 Stockman in darker Winterbottom bone (1958-1960). By 1968, true Winterbottom bone (sometimes called Frontier bone by Queen) was replaced with Delrin imitation Winterbottom "bone". (This #2 has a pin crack on the pile side, so I know that it is bone.)
