Its all Mr. Prine and his genius. I must have listened to 20 of his songs today. I get a hankering from time to time and must cue him up. God speed John.

It's so  that it stuck a chord and brought back some fond memories! And the fact that you dug it out and put together such an awesome and well composed nostalgic photograph makes me smile from ear to ear :) I hope it brings back lots of life memories as you carry it.

May John play in your heart where no one sees him, but I know we will :D

It’s funny how music moves us. Seeing those lyrics had me recalling my teenage years in the 1970s, which led to thinking about shooting a photo. When it came to what knife to display, the answer was obvious.
The Buck Ranger was sadly lost at some point, but handling the Wenger last night made me smile! As a young man I did a lot of hiking and backpacking and when I saw the pliers in this knife, I was sold! This was before the days of the Leatherman. I think I bought it from Cumberland Transit in Nashville.
Good memories, thanks for the nudge! :)

Thank You! May the momentum lead somewhere great ;):)

Two new arrivals in the post , first a Chestnut bone peanut perfect F&F straight in my watch pocket then a GEC #66 Calf Roper in Ebony just about the perfect EDC to tackle most tasks I am likely to come across in a days wandering.

Just got these two in today, and they will certainly be in pocket all day tomorrow. I'm jumping the gun but I'm very excited about the #78!

Zounds!! Congrats on an amazing pair, @solphilos !:cool::thumbsup: Auspicious grain on the 78, and that blue bone Case mini trapper is astounding!

...
Haha, thanks, Gary. I always like reading your comments.

I had these two hard workers with me today.

Yikes!! That's a beguiling pair, FBC @flatblackcapo !:cool::thumbsup: Big-league lambsfoot, and the fixed blade (about which knives I admittedly know nothing - and intend to keep it that way ) looks like a bad boy! Thanks for the encouragement on my comments, too; I sure like seeing what other folks have, knife-wise, and enjoy their enthusiasm!;)

Some nice blades your carrying there GT
Muskrats aren't for me but that camillus is just plain cool.

Now im definitely going to carry the 119 for a while just like I did the Grohmann and Wostenholm for the rest of last year, but it sure won't be forever probably just through this month which is my birth month.
5K Qs 5K Qs GT, your trio is outstanding - elegant, classy, timeless - and ready to perform any task at hand. That is an enviable collection.

GT, the BlackJacket is pretty spiffy!

Xtreme Xclamation!! Thanks for the classy comments, @Hickory n steel and Stuart and Jeff!:thumbsup::cool: I didn't used to like the muskrat pattern because of length and blade redundancy, but Randy Redden gave me one, and when I started using it, I admired how well that slender clip sliced for me. The Camillus is my only knife with AUS-8 steel, FWIW.

Thanks Gev! :) I missed your post while I was typing another quote! It's got soul and it's got stories! ;) I carried it today for a certain reason. I won't go into that tonight but I promise I will elaborate more by the end of the month my friends! :D
WooHoo!! A decent cliffhanger is dynamite!:thumbsup::thumbsup: The suspense is going to do me in, Ron! :D:thumbsup:

...
Thanks pal, terrific trio
...
Oops, forgot to post my OWN carry! Got Lambsfoot Greedy today! :D ;)

Vilify Vorgetfulness!! Thanks for your esteemed opinion of my knives, Jack, and I'm glad you remembered eventually to post your elegant Lambsfoot knives!:thumbsup::thumbsup: The vista behind the Guardians Lambsfoot is exquisite!

I only just now reaiized I re-glued the shield on my slimline upside down. Oh well...
Utter Confusion!! I think your shield positioning is felicitous, Aaron, and the from-the-factory feature is flawed!:cool::thumbsup:

GT Not sure what RR called that bone, just Smooth Bone I suspect, it's not the tobacco one either. Don't have the knife anymore, gave it to a 30 something female friend who really liked the look of it! There's hope for the future, clearly:thumbsup:
Thor's Thunderbolts!! Grand and gallant gesture giving that knife to your young friend, Will!:thumbsup::cool: I thought it might be the smooth tobacco bone, so I'm grateful for your good info. Your Black Box Winchester whittler is groovy, too!:cool::thumbsup:

It is cold today in northern Virginia (currently 20 F - yes, I know it's colder elsewhere) and a buddy has decided it is a great day for a cook-out. He's set 1:00 p.m. EST, during the "heat of the day", he says (predicted high 33 F), for us to gather around his fire pit for grilled brats and kielbasa and cold beverages. Not having any common sense and anything else to do, I am packing gloves (to hold a beverage) and these guys: a Winchester camper/scout and a Union Cutlery hobo.

Sense and Sensibility, Stuart!! The cold cook-out sounds hare-brained, but your knives are handsome, hoary, and hot!:thumbsup::cool: Heavenly cook-out cutlery!

Yesterday's picture; carrying again today.

Puzzling Pouched Pieces!! Your immaculate lambsfoot is irresistible, Greg!:cool::thumbsup: The patterns in the handle are intriguing!

Quaking Quivers!! Duane, it's a real joy to see your jaw-dropping ebony Powederhorn again!:thumbsup::cool: A two-blade toothpick is just jazzy!

Lotsa pockets means lotsa toys.

Oaths and Obscenities!! Kudos for the killer toys in your pockets, Shawn!:thumbsup::thumbsup: The 3 folders are definitely kickin'!

...
I've got my Saldana dogleg today. Ironwood and carbon fiber.

Nattering Nabobs of Negativity!! That's a lavish, laudable looker, Alan!:thumbsup::thumbsup: What a luminous, distinctive knife!

...
Carrying these two today. These feel like "special occasion" knives, but they are simply going to the office with me.

Merry Mother of Memories!! Matching, yet matchless, Dylan!:cool::thumbsup: What a magnificent memorable pair!

I remember when I was young
My brother seemed to have all the fun
He had the blue cap and uniform
Seemed like all I had was being born
He got to play in the woods and earn a badge or two
While my life felt like do do
But now that I'm older
And have learned a thing or two
Being younger ain't so bad
You finally get to have all those things you wish you had

Old rivers just grow wilder
Old trees just grow stronger
Hopefully the road grows longer
You don't lose your mind
And have plenty more time
To play with old knives and listen to a little more John Prine

Leaping Lizards!! That's a noble camp knife, Gev, and your John Prine reference is noteworthy!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Both knife and singer/songwriter are notable American icons, IMHO!

Carrying the beautiful new Case Tribal Lock that was given to me by my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas. It really has the best fit and finish I have seen on a Case knife.

Kreeping Kudzu!! That opulent Tribal Lock is outstanding, TKK!:thumbsup::cool: Congrats on the overwhelming gift from your family!

My Boker has been a long time companion. I love it. This IXL is working its way towards pushing it out of my pocket. An old knife from the 40's or 50's with perfect pull and strong snap. Nice thin grind with very little wear. It almost seems like it was used for a few months and dulled then thrown in a tool box. The jigging is crisp and the pins near factory. Nice size in hand and pocket at 3 5/8".

Working on the arena ice today.

Jam-packed Jammers!! That's provocative and almost preposterous news, @jmarston !:thumbsup::thumbsup: I wouldn't have predicted that your peerless Böker Barlow would be pushed aside!

Three more knives from the last week of my rotation schedule! An Alox Cadet II (thanks, Ken), a Vic Recruit, and my first-ever knife, a Colonial Forest-Master:
