What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Notable pair you had for Wooden Wednesday.:cool::thumbsup: Is that Böker whittler the one that you made a shield for, AND the one that once sprouted a tree in April??:rolleyes:
I've made a couple new shields for Boker whittlers, but this one in thuya wood originally had a tree glued on the surface rather than inset, so I didn't see the need. I do have to keep an eye on it when the spring rains come, lest it sprout again. ;):D:D

Unless someone were to blow me away with a trade offer I can't refuse, I've decided that I'm gonna carry, use and enjoy my new TC Barlow. Today is probably the first time in over 9 years I haven't had a locking folder in my pocket. The TC is pretty fantastic. Just these 2 today!

Of all the "nicer" knives I've been buying from Case and GEC this is the one that stays my pocket and sees the most use. Its taken me a lot of time and many patterns to realize that I'm really a small knife guy, despite the fact that my favorites to admire, handle and use are in the 3 1/2-4 inch range.

Intriguing trio, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool::cool: I deliberately stay ignorant about fixed blades, but the nearly perfect symmetry of your Cannady is fascinating!:cool:

Thanks, GT. Yes, the lines of the Cannady are what attracted me, plus the easy-to-carry size (fits in a hunting coat pocket very well). I like you collection today - I knew the canoe, the Camillus is classic, but that Case trapper is very sweet looking. could be a perfect EDC bird&trout knife. The Vic farmer has me shopping again (drat!).

My first rbose knife, slimline trapper, 154CM #2. Owned for a few years, today is first time to carry.

JTB_5 JTB_5 Uh-oh, the photo gremlins are back. Your posted picture doesn't show.

It must be something to do with google accounts. I tried to use google drive, but that wasn't working consistently, so I tried moving them to google photos, but that apparently has similar inconsistencies. I may have to try one of the photo hosting services, or just buy a subscription on the BF. I've been considering it, but have been holding off since I'm so new and wasn't sure if I'd be making use of a subscription. Decisions, decisions!

@5K Qs I’m always in admiration of your ‘math fancier’ knives. Your “Perfect Equation Knife” makes me smile every time I look at it. I found it funny for a knife to have a multiplication table. I query its reason for existence, other than knife? Was it to help adults who couldn’t do math and/or for a child? Whatever it was made for - it found its way to the right owner.

Jack Black Jack Black Thanks, sir. Hope you’re haveing a great New Year.

Simple carry for today, because I’m at the house. It’s been so cold here and today is rainy and overcast, so it’s my ‘normal suspects’ that always serve me well.

I'm taking these two ol' fellers for a walk in the sun today, along with my ol' Lab (the real impetus for the walk). A Queen City heavy jack in Rogers bone (1922-1945) and Kutmaster muskrat (1937-?).

The bone on those two, the Kutmaster especially.... Drool.

Ahh, Chimay: one of the finest ones- and the stag lambsfoot is quite satisfying, too;)

Thank you sir :)

So far so good, thanks, my friend. A series of rail strikes have kept me away from Sheffield this week, but I'll be over next week :)

Just to be clear, the glove is not mine. :) But the knife is.

:D
