Nice pic! Forum member Shaerk made the fixed blade, great little slicer.

Nice edge on that Enigma! They are cool knives. M390 or ZWear? Also, tell me about your EDC slip?

Thanks :D Yeah they sure are nice, superb value.
US2000 is the steel on this one ;)
The slip is a "TFG EDC WLT", designed to be a wallet (as one might guess from the name :D) but imo it's a shit wallet. But as a slip for multiple knives it's really nice :D It's made from leather and handmade in Spain, runs around 30€, there are various shades of brown available as well as a choice of softer or stiffer leather. The shop selling them (Tools for gents) is in Germany, but they have a partnership with collectors knives so if you inquire there they can probably import some :D
And finally: a picture of the slip :)

On the inside is a #78, that ends just shy of the top edge. Front pocket sports a CK Euro-Barlow, largest thing I'd put in there is something in the #81 range. On the backside is an additonal pocket

Happy Monday, everyone. Spent the weekend away from the Forums for the most part so I have some catching up to do. I hope everyone had a good weekend and enjoyed the big game. I am a hockey guy myself but I do watch football once a year on the Super Bowl ;).

I am carrying these two today. The #99 is a pattern I haven't experienced before so @flatblackcapo graciously lent me this one to check out for a week or two. I represents a number of firsts for me when it comes to GEC knives: It is the first 99 I've handled, it is the first GEC with O1 steel I have used, it is the first GEC lockback I've encountered, and it is the first GEC I've had in hand with acrylic covers.

Overall, I am pleased. It is a good, solid pattern with no frills and is comfortable to use. I was already a fan of O1 steel and the acrylic has been a pleasant surprise. I hope that GEC not only produces this pattern again but will do more with O1 in the future as well.

I have these two in my pockets today:the Sway Back Gent I received as a gift this Christmas, the Sodbuster Jr I gifted to myself last week (the blame for that extravagance I lay at the feet of @5K Qs who has posted fab photos of his version). I admit that I am weak.

Great jigging on those!

Those Enigma knives are very nice. What is the US2000 steel they use? Never heard of it.
Neither did I before seeing it in enigma knives. I think it's fairly comparable to CruWear(alias is Z-Wear). It's produced by Zapp, in the data sheath they list toughness and wear resistance @60HRC at about double(a bit more actually) that of D2@60.

Knife Steel App: PM Cold Work Steel; advertised as CPM3V equivalent; according to Zapp tougher than 3V@same hardness. Looking at the chemical composition it seems like a mix of 3V and CruWear

EDIT: forgot my own experience :D very nice Steel, harder to sharpen than M4, takes a wicked edge and keeps that really keen Edge(doesn't degrade to "working edge" like S110V etc.) toughness also has been great, used the 15dps edge on ceramic plates a few times and there's no edge damage yet.

I was supposed to switch last week; however, I was supposed to get mail on Saturday, so I waited. I’ve yet to carry tan burlap, despite owning 2 now, so I remedied that today. I’ll keep this in pocket until Friday.

Great knives everyone. Enjoy your day!

Such an attractive TC deserved a TOUCHDOWN CELEBRATION, Dean!:cool:;)

Thanks for the link, Dean. :) All this Soldier discussion makes me feel like a PATRIOT!;)

I'll probably watch at least the first half of Super Bowl LII this evening. Here's the pre-game meal I made myself after I finished shoveling snow this afternoon. When I'm not carrying that rosewood lambsfoot, it has an honored place on the kitchen counter for food prep. (The photo is actually old, but I used the knife to make my salad today, and the salad was essentially identical to the one in the photo, but without chunks of ham.)

Thanks, Gary! Kudos to the Rosewood Case. The salad makes me hungry.
