What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

View attachment 842713 I’ll be carrying this Kabar tomorrow.
Swayback,delrin, lambsfoot main...
Rope/navy knife??? Not sure. Any info from Kabar knowledgable porch goers would be most welcome.
I do know it’s a great knife in the hand.

EDIT: found two different photos of this knife online, and both called it a New England Whaler.

2nd EDIT: as cutfinger pointed out, this is not one of those funny looking lambsfoot blades ;)

Mannister is a handsome dog Amir. Nice Kabar too! Not a lamb foot main on that knife, it's something else. Looks like a good stout knife. It reminds me of the Case weavers (?) knife.

Edited to add- sorry, that isn't much...

I may beat you to that Jack. I've friends who live in West Heslerton on the A64 and Thornton-Le-Dale who I'll be visiting I think in March. If I pass through Pickering when I'll pop in myself and take a look.
Never been Hall & Coates, thanks for making me away of them. If I end up in Whitby over the summer I'll pop in there as well.

Hope you have a nice time Donn :) Hall & Coates has been there for a very long time, it's changed a bit, but still worth checking out, they're not far from The Black Horse

Excellent duo, Jack, as nicely paired as GOALPOSTS!:thumbsup::cool:

That pair is as welcome as a II-POINT CONVERSION in a close game, Jack! ;):thumbsup:

r8shell, it's like you went for a HAIL MARY with that Kabar and scored the winning TOUCHDOWN!:thumbsup::thumbsup:;) Love the "as-ground" ("as-found"?) finish on the blades!:cool::cool:

Stellar stag samples, Stuart; both perfect Xs (on a X-point scale).

deltaboy, your Frontier stockman must make you feel like every play is FIRST & GOAL FROM THE 2-YD LINE! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Those two give you quite a "pocket tool chest", HnS!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I like the ROMAN NUMERAL motif in your composition! ;):thumbsup:

Seeing your stag Lambsfoot is as exciting as watching a BLITZING DEFENSE!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Such an attractive TC deserved a TOUCHDOWN CELEBRATION, Dean!:cool:;)

Thanks for the link, Dean. :) All this Soldier discussion makes me feel like a PATRIOT!;)

Thanks, Jack. Those knives are, in a sense, SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS among all my knives! :)

Thanks for the lambsfoot love, r8shell, but remember that photo was taken during PRE_GAME WARMUPS, as it were, and it no longer looks as pristine here in the THIRD QUARTER!! :)
I hope you can remember the little multiplication trick, too. :) But sometimes your performance changes when you get down in the RED ZONE and the pressure is on!

Congrats on the wonderful retirement gifts, Ron!!:thumbsup::cool::cool: With those III knives, you're like a TRIPLE THREAT QB!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

Outstanding stag, Harry!!:thumbsup::cool: FWIW, I prefer the LXXXV in that duo! :)

Welcome back to The Porch, donn!!:) I hope things are better with your mother now. A Joker like yours is not a bad knife to have if you must stay with just one for a month!:thumbsup: I can't figure out what the filling is in that pie, but the crust looks divine - just the treat for a SUPER BOWL SUNDAY.:cool::thumbsup:

Wouldn't really need any knife besides that one!:cool::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: MVP! MVP! MVP! :p

That Barlow is more thrilling than a XCIII-YARD PUNT RETURN FOR A TD!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool:

I'll probably watch at least the first half of Super Bowl LII this evening. Here's the pre-game meal I made myself after I finished shoveling snow this afternoon. When I'm not carrying that rosewood lambsfoot, it has an honored place on the kitchen counter for food prep. (The photo is actually old, but I used the knife to make my salad today, and the salad was essentially identical to the one in the photo, but without chunks of ham.)

Thanks GT :D Hope you, and all our US members, had a great Super Bowl Sunday :)

Nice looking Smith! How did a knife from Erin NY end up in England? I grew up in a small town in upstate NY (population 2500) near Erin, which is even smaller. I had friends who lived in Erin.

Thank you :) That's pretty cool, I was gifted the Smith some years ago by a generous friend here, told me he was sending me a beat-up old Barlow :D

Carrying these two today :) Have a good week folks
