What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Borrowed my brother's nice camera to try and take a half-decent pic of the knives I was touching up this morning.

Very fine set-up indeed and an excellent composition.:thumbup:

I've been fortunate of late. These little Imperials keep crossing my path and I can't resist. Today I carried the one on the bottom. A 'Diamond Edge' 859 DE Imperial R.I USA. An outstanding little pocket knife with sunken joints, wicked steel, and just the right size and weight.

Thanks! I would have chosen a clip point sight unseen but this was a gift from my father and I've actually grown fond of the very thin and slightly curved edge.

Very nice. Who made the fixed blade?

Thanks, that's from Alan Davis out of Texas.

I have been carrying a red cv peanut the last few days. I doing a lil experiment with it, seeing how much this lil knife can do and so far I haven't encountered any problems.

I'm totin' a Schatt and Morgan Series XVIII sowbelly.

...

Still the same EDC knife for over a year now from Kerry.

Beautiful knife. What's the backdrop??

Ken Erickson: 4 1/4" Stockman (CPM-D2)

Every day since I got it for Xmas:

Just can't seem to get it out of my pocket. (Not that I'm complaining.)

I'd be willing to bet it's because that knife is AWESOME! :)

Totin' my Ken Coats EO Sheepsfoot Jack again today.

I like the look of that black linen (?) micarta. I only have one knife with micarta handles. It's a GEC calf roper and I think it might have paper micarta handles. They are grippy but slick. Is the linen material grippier like the handles on ESEE fixed blades? Btw, Cool blade combo.

Hey Wallbright, nice looking OT. I sure would like to know the model # and CL of that one.

Thank you very much. Its model # is 720T. I think they still make these and you can purchase them off of popular websites for cheap. I do know that they have made them for a while though so I think this one is of a slightly older vintage but I could be way wrong. I am new to the hobby so you will have to forgive me for not knowing what CL means. If you could please tell me what it means I am sure I could tell you the CL for this knife.

Here is a close up picture:

Jake, I used to have a Black Micarta Calf Roper just like yours and I would say that the Linen Micarta on my KC EO has about the same level of "gripiness" as the Micarta on the Calf Roper. It looks different with the grain structure but it is smooth to the touch with just a very slight "tacky" feel. I have never handled an ESEE fixed blade to compare it to.

I missed that the first look, thats really a good looking little knife Rick. Love the handle material.

Thanks, Kevin!

I'd just like to add, obviously I don't have Rick's knife :D, but the linen micarta is polished so its mostly smooth. The linen micata on my ESEE-6 isn't polished so its definitely grippier. You could sand down the polish to make it grippier if you wanted.

Sorry. I should have said 'Closed Length'. :foot:

I'm totin' this one today

Haha no worries at all. I should learn the knife lingo. :p

I do not have a ruler or tape measure with me but one of the online sellers says 2.9-Inch closed length.

Kind regards

I'm carrying one of these myself. It's been pretty much my pocketknife since I got it earlier in the month. I like it!

I'm not going to post my picture again, because yours is much better than mine.

Interesting! A single rat could make a very useful slim pattern.

Today An ultralite Buck 309 Fine W&T on this one. I also got the SAK Farmer out of my bag and used the saw blade to enlarge a hole for a heating cable in a tricky place where power tools were out. Great bit of kit!
